The folks at Shelby American have announced that they will roll out a heavily modified 2015 Ford F150 pickup at the upcoming SEMA Show in Las Vegas, with a 700hp engine and the proper mods to make one wicked off-road racer – serving as a stand-in for the SVT Raptor until that factory go-fast truck arrives next year.

This past Friday, the Chrysler Group teased a few of the vehicles that they are bringing to SEMA and while we were enamored with the prospect of an all-wheel drive Dodge Challenger – there were also teasers of what appear to be the Chrysler 300, the Ram 1500 Rebel and a Fiat 500X which will join the AWD muscle car in the huge Mopar display.

The 2017 Ford F150 SVT Raptor will feature by a new, high performance version of the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 which is expected to yield somewhere in the area of 450 horsepower and once this new, beefier version of the long-popular EcoBoost V6 has hit the streets in the new SVT pickup – the Ford Taurus SHO should be the next in line to get a higher output twin turbo V6.

The local union responsible for building the 2015 Ford F150 at the Kansas City production facility was threatening to go on strike if some concerns with issues at the plant were not addressed, but the head of the local union has announced that a tentative agreement has been reached – thus avoiding a stoppage of F150 production at this vital time.
