Since the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 debuted well over a year ago, we have speculated as to how awesome this monster muscle car would be in action on the track and with the first big media outlets getting ahold of the most track capable Camaro of all time – the first videos showing the Z/28 being pushed to the limits have surfaced on YouTube.
General Motors has been kind enough to offer up a collection of short videos showing the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 in action on the track, but those have been more information than the video featured below. This new video, from the folks at Car and Driver, shows a red Camaro Z/28 and a silver Camaro Z/28 running nose to tail at high speeds around the road course at Barber Motorsports Park. These cars are heavily clad in a bunch of GoPro cameras so not only do we get to enjoy watching a pair of ne Z/28s in action outside of the safe confines of GM’s control – but we get to see the action from a wide variety of angles.
Now, this video doesn’t show us anything groundbreaking about the new Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 so don’t expect any lap times or anything like that. At the same time, I do believe this to be some of the best footage of the new super muscle car that I have seen thus far so for those Camaro lovers who cannot get enough Z/28 – this video should certainly satisfy your appetite until more videos of the most track capable Camaro ever arrive online. Above all, the sound of these two Camaros accelerating hard (or kind of hard) as they come out of the corners should put a smile on the face of any lover of American performance…not just Camaro fans.
Now that the first videos of the 2014 Chevolet Camaro Z/28 in the hands of people other than GM engineers and filmmakers, we can expect to see some real action over the coming months. Those videos should (hopefully) include some more solid data – specifically track times that show how this car really stacks up against the competition. Most importantly, Im hoping to see someone else take the Z/28 to the Nürburgring in Germany to make an attempt at an even faster lap in better conditions than what GM faced when they set the track record for an American muscle car.
Before watching this video the two 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 running nose to tail around the road course at Barber Motorsports Park, make sure that you have your speakers cranked up as the sound of these two beasts in action is a massive part of what makes this video so awesome.
