Consumer Guide Automotive names Nissan Rogue Sport to its "Best Buy Award" list for 2018. There’s 4 reasons why it’s best for urban consumers.

According to Consumer Guide Automotive, the new 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport is a "Best Buy” for urban consumers. It took home the award along with its stablemate Nissan Rogue as "Best Buy Award" winners in their annual new product evaluations. There’s four reasons why Rogue Sport wins in the Subcompact Crossover category.

Look for the Rogue Sport, smaller sibling to the top-selling Rogue compact crossover, to be a big hit with young urban consumers. Rogue Sports shares its name, platform and numerous advanced safety and security features with the popular Rogue, but the subcompact Sport stands on its own because it appeals to a young demographic wanting a smart urban commuter. Rogue Sport stands out in four areas, exterior styling, its compact nimble size, it’s high on the fun-to-drive meter, and it’s affordable ($21,420 starting MSRP).

It fills a need in the fast-growing compact crossover segment with a millennial generation looking for an urban commuter with good fuel-efficiency (25/32 city/highway). Michael Bunce, vice president, Product Planning, Nissan North America says, “Rogue Sport fills a need for singles and couples who want more space and versatility than the average sedan for everyday urban use and social activities.”

Consumer Guide Automotive says, “The Nissan Rogue Sport takes all the winning traits of its compact Nissan Rogue sibling and condenses them down into a nicely executed subcompact SUV. The Rogue Sport is a bit larger all-around than most of its class competitors, and it offers a bit more passenger and cargo room inside while remaining especially easy to maneuver and park in cramped urban areas.”

How does it compare with Rogue?

Rogue Sport has a 2.3-inch shorter wheelbase and a 12.1-inch shorter overall length than Rogue, which will make it a capable urban commuter. It features up to 61.1 cubic feet of cargo space (2nd row seat folded) and available innovative Divide-N-Hide Cargo System to the Around View Monitor (AVM) with Moving Object Detection (MOD).

It’s powered by a four-cylinder 141-horsepower 2.0-liter Direct Injection Gasoline (DIG) engine coupled with a Xtronic transmission. It will be offered in S, SV and SL trims and competes with the Honda HR-V, Ford EcoSport and Toyota C-HR. Consumer Guide Automotive names the Rogue Sport to its"Best Buy Award" list for 2018 because of its sporty styling, nimble size, it’s fun-to-drive, and it’s affordable.
