The woman known as "The Great Lakes Litter Lady" has been chosen as Chevy's Lead Dream Chaser. Meag Schwartz says she will use her prize money and a 2024 Chevy Trax to help clean up the Great Lakes.
Chevrolet has chosen its “Lead Dream Chaser”! She is the person who will get to pursue their dream or passion with $100,000 and the use of a 2024 Chevrolet Trax. Chevrolet announced the contest in January and has been sifting through hundreds of applications to find the perfect person and cause to support. The redesigned 2024 Chevrolet Trax, which debuts this spring, is larger and sportier than the last version.
Michigan activist and environmental educator Meag Schwartz has been selected as the “Lead Dream Chaser”, and she has promised to use her prize to help protect and clean up the Great Lakes. She is known as “The Great Lakes Litter Lady.” Schwartz is a dedicated advocate for freshwater and dreams of growing her marine debris removal passion project, “Great Lakes Great Responsibility”. She will receive $100,000 and three months with the all-new 2024 Chevy Trax to help make her dream possible.
Chevrolet released this video about Schwartz and her passion.
Schwartz was chosen by a panel of judges from hundreds of video submissions. She will share her journey on social media for others to follow along as she aims to highlight the natural beauty of the Great Lakes and its shorelines and encourages her followers to be a part of the mission.
“This is a dream come true,” said Schwartz. “The funds and Chevy Trax will go a long way in helping us achieve our goal of protecting and enjoying the Great Lakes. Thanks to Chevrolet for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I encourage everyone to follow @greatlakeslove to see the dream unfold in real time.“
The 2024 Chevrolet Trax
Chevrolet has reimagined the Trax compact SUV. Much like some of its foreign competitors who have focused on entry level buyers, Chevy is loading up the Trax with lots of technology. The 2024 Chevrolet Trax is larger than the current version, with more room for passengers and cargo. With a MSRP starting at $21,495, it is designed to win back some young buyers as well as others who might have had to turn to the used car market because new cars have gotten so incredibly expensive. The Trax is as practical as a compact car but it has all of the space and fun of an SUV.
“We are inspired by the many entries we received and are excited to follow Schwartz in her journey as the ‘Lead Dream Chaser’,” said Steve Majoros, chief marketing officer, Chevrolet. “The all-new Chevy Trax has everything you need to pursue your passion in style, so we encourage every dreamer to check it out.”
The finalists for the Chevy Dream Chaser role were reviewed and scored by a panel of judges from Chevrolet, with creative entrepreneur and CEO of Kickstarter, Everette Taylor, serving as a guest judge. The judges scored each finalist according to five areas of the weighted criteria. The contestant with the highest total combined score from each judge was declared the winner.
