The 2011 Chrysler 200 sedan and convertible hope to erase the demons of the vehicle previously known as the Chrysler Sebring and to help with that effort, Chrysler has rolled out the sporty new S package for the new Chrysler 200 sedan and convertible at the 2011 New York International Auto Show.
The upgrades to the 2011 Chrysler 200 2 sedan and 200 S convertible are intended to offer some attitude, with black accents added around the exterior of the cars. Across the front, the 200 S sedan and convertible benefit from a black grille treatment, black headlight bezels and a S-trimline specific Chrysler “wing badge” with a black background (normal Chrysler wing badges have a blue background). Next, Chrysler added body colored mirrors, door handles and they finished the package with a set of unique 18” aluminum wheels with bright outer edges, dark painted pockets and the S logo.
Inside, the 2011 Chrysler 200 2 sedan and 200 S convertible includes a sporty perforated leather steering wheel, heated leather front seats with suede inserts and embroidered S logos on the headrests. A black headliner helps to finish off the hardcore black interior and the suede from the seats is echoed in the door panels and to make sure that the 200 S sounds as great as it looks, a Boston Acoustic sound system with a 276-watt CD/DVD/MP3/30 gigabyte hard drive media center with Uconnect® voice command is installed to satisfy the modern audiophile.
The 2011 Chrysler 200 S sedan and 200 S convertible are powered by the same drivetrain as the rest of the 2011 Chrysler 200 lineup, specifically with the new 3.6L Pentastar V6 pumping 283 horsepower and 260lb-ft of torque to the front wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission with the Autostick feature. This drivetrain makes the 2011 200 one of the most powerful models in the segment and with 29mpg, it is also one of the more fuel-friendly non-hybrid sedans available – especially with that much power.
The 2011 Chrysler 200 S sedan is currently available for order at your local Chrysler dealership with deliveries expected during the second quarter of this year and an MSRP of $26,790 including a $750 destination charge. The 2011 Chrysler 200 S convertible will become available when the droptop 200’s hit showrooms later this year, with a price of $32,490 including a $750 destination fee.
