We have been looking at spyshots and then official images of the 2012 MINI Coupe but now, you can go to the Mini USA website to build and price out your dream Cooper Coupe.
As soon as you open the Mini USA website, you are greeted by a John Cooper Works MINI Coupe in white and red with “Live Fast” sprawled across the page. This makes it hard to miss the fact that the compact Cooper Coupe is finally here and under a short introduction to the new Coupe, there is a link to Build Your Own. When you click that link, the website goes into action – compiling “more than 10 million configurations” and when it finishes loading, you are presented with a base 2012 MINI Cooper Coupe.
First, as you build your ideal 2012 MINI Cooper Coupe there are five customization categories, design packages, performance, instruments and accessories; with subcategories under all but packages. Design lets you pick your body color, roof/mirror color, exterior details which include various chrome trim, different lighting options and unique stripes, seats & upholstery which includes the colors, styles and seats of the MINI Cooper Coupe and finally the dash, door and trim category which offers the various color choices for those interior items. The MINI Cooper Coupe is available in two standard colors (Chili Red, Pepper White) but for $500 you can pick from six more colors that include black, another shade of white, blue, green, dark orange and gray. For a look at all of the options (there are a ton), click here to look for yourself.
Under the packages tab in the 2012 MINI Cooper Coupe configurator, you can pick from features like the cold weather package, the technology package, the premium package, the sport package and the John Cooper Works package. When you get to the performance tab, you will select your transmission choice (6-speed auto or manual), which one of the 13 different wheel choices you like the best, whether you want the dynamic traction control or sport suspension options, and a wide variety of lighting and convenience options under “visibility”.
The final two tabs are Instruments and Accessories, with the first giving you a choice of stereo systems, park assist systems, and the Mini Connected system while the MINI Accessories catalog offers pretty much anything a new Mini enthusiast could ask for in terms of customization.
By clicking the arrow at the top where the site says MINI COOPER COUPE, you can then go back and pick the S option under the Cooper Coupe image or to have a look at the John Cooper Works Coupe, you will need to go into the JCW tab on the far right. Talking about the new MINI Cooper Coupe configurator only goes so far so click here to head over to the Mini USA site to build your own 2012 Cooper Coupe!
