Toyota has spent the past week easing out tiny teasers of the 2012 Toyota Camry but thanks to the Canadian Auto Guide via the folks at Autoblog, we have what looks to be our first good, clear look at the new Camry ahead of its public debut later this month.
As you can see in the image on the side which was cropped from the pages of Canadian Auto Guide by Autoblog, along the sides of the 2012 Toyota Camry you find fairly smooth lines but in addition to the aggressive new front end, the new Camry looks to feature a far more angular roof line. The point where the A pillar and C pillar meet the roof meet in a less rounded manner than the current 2011 Camry, helping to draw out the angular look of the new sedan.
As we saw in the 2012 Toyota Camry teaser posted yesterday by the Japanese automaker, the C pillar indeed meets the back of the car in a much more pronounced fashion where the current Camry C pillar flows down through the raised trunk lid and between the tail lights. The 2012 Camry, as expected, has a trunklid that is flush to the top of the quarter panels with a sharp body line breaking up the curvature between the trunk and the sides of the car.
Thanks to the Canadian Auto Guide and the fellas at Autoblog, we have our first look at the 2012 Toyota Camry that isn’t a teaser or cropped from a video and it looks like Toyota has indeed made the Camry a far less bland vehicle. The sharp new lines should help to remove the cuddly, bubbly image of the company’s bestselling vehicle in the US market as the Camry finally has some physical attitude.
