2020 Dodge Challenger: Exterior Changes are Basic but Model-Wide

The 2020 Dodge Challenger gets new wheels in just about every trim level, along with some new badges and new colors.

As part of our detailed look at the 2020 Dodge Challenger, we have previously looked at the power levels across the lineup along with the interior and exterior color options for the new model year. Today, we are focusing on the changes made to the exterior across the lineup, which are all new wheels, new badges and new exterior colors.

Since we talked about the exterior colors in-depth yesterday, we will simply remind you that for the 2020 Challenger, Frostbite, Hellraisin and Sinamon Stick have been introduced while a half-dozen colors have been removed from the palate. Click here for a closer look at the interior and exterior color options for the new model year.

New 2020 Dodge Challenger R/T Badges
The first changes that we will discuss after the new colors for the 2020 Dodge Challenger are the new badges. The R/T models get new “Hemi” badges on the fenders while the R/T Scat Pack sports a new “Scat Pack Bee” badge on the rear spoiler.

Unfortunately, there are no images provided of either of those badges, so we will have to wait to see exactly what they look like, but I expect that the R/T Hemi badge is a simple block logo while the Scat Pack Bee logo on the rear spoiler of the Scat Pack likely looks similar to the logo on the grille of the Scat Pack Charger, with both the words “Scat Pack” and the angry little bee, but again, we don’t know for sure. All we know is that the R/T gets a new Hemi callout badge on the fenders while the Scat Pack badging for 2020 will alert competitors coming from behind that this is not a 5.7-liter-powered Challenger R/T.

New Wheels across the Lineup
Next, there are nine new wheel choices across the 2020 Dodge Challenger lineup, although a few of them are returning designs with new colors. Unfortunately, there are only a few images of these new wheels, so we will have to wait for pictures of many of the new wheel designs and colors. We do understand that this information would be far more useful with images and as soon as images are available, we will add them, but right now, we can only use our imagination in some cases.

The wheels on the 2020 Challenger SXT AWD and GT AWD is new, finished in “Satin Carbon” and measuring 19-inches by 7.5-inches. If you add the Blacktop Package to either of those models, that same wheel design is painted “Black Noise”.

The new Challenger GT in rear-drive form gets a new 20-inch wheel in Satin Carbon, but if you opt for the Plus Group, you get a different, new set of 20-inch wheels in Satin Carbon. Also, if you add the Performance Handling Group to your new Challenger GT rear-wheel-drive model, the new “Lights Out” wheels are standard, shown below on the Challenger T/A.

The 2020 Dodge Challenger R/T gets new 20-inch wheels painted Satin Carbon while those R/T models with the Plus Group get “Tinted Clear” wheels and when the T/A package or Performance Handling Group are included, the Lights Out wheels mentioned above are standard.

The 2020 Challenger R/T Scat Pack comes with new standard 20-inch “Low Gloss Granite” wheels while the Scat Pack Widebody has a new optional wheel that is painted that same color, measuring 20x11-inches. That Low Gloss Granite wheel finish was introduced earlier this year with the debut of the Widebody Charger, shown below.

Finally, the 2020 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and Hellcat Redeye with the standard-width body come with the same wheels as 2019, but there is a new optional 20-inch machined-face wheel with Granite pockets. Also, the widebody version of the Hellcat and Hellcat Redeye come with a new standard 20x11-inch Low Gloss Black wheel while Low Gloss Granite “Warpspeed” wheels are optional.

See you in my next story where I am discussing the details of the six transmission options of the new 2020 Dodge Challenger.

Never gotten tired of these cars. When you have a perfectly good formula that has aggressive and timeless looks AND DELIVERS THE GOODS IN PERFORMANCE, you realize it's hard to improve on that winning formula!!! Dodge is Killin it with that and the wide SELECTION in performance packages that are for the most part are reasonably priced especially when you consider what you get! I'm a foxbody mustang guy and been so since the 1980's, and back then thru the 90's and to say they were popular was an EXTREME understatement!! Although THIS day and age Dodge is Killin it and FORD, and GM need to take note!
