The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat has proven to be a hot commodity in the toy/collectables market with a handful of options from the smaller scale Hot Wheels, but a new 24th scale diecast Hellcat Challenger from Jada is reaching stores in four different colors – for around $20.
The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat has proven to be insanely popular with buyers and with automotive enthusiasts, so when the folks at Mattel rolled out their first Hellcat Hot Wheels toy car, it flew off of the pegs. The Hellcat Challenger from Hot Wheels is available in a few different colors, but they’ve been nearly impossible to find in stores and buying them on eBay will lead to paying far more than the 97 cents you’d pay at Walmart.
Even with the popularity of the Hot Wheels Hellcat Challenger, some people wanted a bigger diecast version of the modern Mopar muscle car. The toymaker Jada offered some larger Hellcat options in the form of plastic remote control cars, but there was no larger scale diecast until now – also thanks to the folks at Jada.
The first Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat diecast (metal) toy I have seen comes from the Jada Big Time Muscle line, and as you can see in the images here – it is available in black, black with red stripes, red with a black hood and Sublime with a black hood. I bought a Sublime car for my own collection, so I was able to open it up to capture some of the detail.
Unlike the smaller Hellcat toys or the plastic RC cars, this Jada Challenger has a detailed engine that looks like a chromed-out Hellcat Hemi and when you open the doors, you can see that the interior is very similar to the real thing – right down to the infotainment screen and the red gauges in the cluster. Around the outside, the Jada Hellcat Challenger is nicely detailed, with the correct wheels, big brakes with red calipers, the vented hood and the badges all around. Also, unlike the Hot Wheels versions – the Jada cars actually use the Hellcat not rather than just the Hellcat head logo.
This little car from Jada is the largest and the most detailed Hellcat car I have seen thus far, but best of all, it is very inexpensive. I got the car shown here for $19.97 at my local Walmart, so those folks who want to park a Hellcat Challenger on their shelf or desk can do so without spending much money.

The bad news is that these cars are currently in short supply as the first units reach the store and they are flying off of the shelves. I bought this Sublime green car and when I went back the next day, the two black cars and the red car were all gone. I have spoken to folks in other parts of the US who bought one of these cars and the case is the same with them, as the other cars were gone very quickly.
So for those Hellcat Challenger fans keeping tabs, Hot Wheels has a red version, a blue version and a green version in 1/64 scale, Jada has two plastic RC cars in red in 1/43 and 1/24 scale and now Jada offers the 1/24 scale diecast model in red, green, black and black with red trim.
