Chevrolet has just rolled out the first teaser images of what they are bringing out to the 2012 SEMA Show in Las Vegas with a special focus on the compact hatchbacks and sedans that will debut on October 30th – and we will first take a look at the tiny Chevy Spark.
The 2013 Chevrolet Spark will be featured at SEMA in four very different forms with two focusing on charity and the other two leaning more towards distinctly customizing the Spark for a sportier look.
The first two Chevy Sonic hatchbacks coming to SEMA are both interior and exterior design packages that have been designed to support charities. The first is the “Pink Out Spark” (shown top left in the image to the right) which has been designed to support the American Cancer Society. This package begins with a Chevrolet Accessories ground effects package, a Z-spec grille and the standard offered Techno Pink exterior paint with pink stripes and the familiar pink ribbon that is associated with cancer fighting charities. Inside, there is tons more pink on the suede headliner, instrument panel and other areas throughout.
The second charity-related Chevy Spark headed to the 2012 SEMA Show is clad in the paint splatter of The Color Run (shown bottom right). This is a unique 5k run that stops at locations all over the United States where the runners are sprayed with a mix of eco-friendly paint during the run for some colorful fun. The Chevy Spark is the official vehicle of The Color Run and this “color splashed” vehicle will serve as the pace car for Color Run events over the next few months including stops in Nashville, Miami, Washington DC, Boise, Hawaii, San Diego, Little Rock, Houston, Charlotte, New Orleans and St Petersburg. Each of these events send their proceeds to charity groups with the specific charity varying from event to event. You can click here to visit The Color Run website for more information.
The third Chevrolet Spark that will help fill the massive GM SEMA Show display is the Spark Sinister Concept (shown bottom left). This black and red Spark is clad in a an extensive body kit that includes unique front and rear fascias, unique side sills and a large rear spoiler mounted high on this aggressive looking hatchback. GM has also added a unique hood with an air extractor and flared fenders that extend out over the 18x6 inch split spoke wheels wrapped in high performance tires. A suspension package lowers the ride height of the Spark and a sporty paint scheme featuring Carbon Flash Metallic paint with red and matte black accents finish off the package. We can also expect a sportier interior but GM is keeping that part a surprise for SEMA.
Finally, the fourth Chevy Spark that has been teased is the Spark Z-Spec Concept (shown top right). This sleek hatchback has been fitted with a variety of dealer-offered accessories that are either already available or the company could add them in the near future. On the outside, the Spark Z-Spec Concept wears the factory available Salsa Red paint, a Chevrolet Accessories ground effects kit, a Chevrolet Accessories Z-spec grille with Carbon Flash trim, headlight trim, the fog light trim, the belt moldings and the rear diffuser finished in Dark Argent and some concept (not currently available) 15x6 inch split spoke wheels painted Dark Argent with a Salsa Red insert. Chevrolet Performance front lowering coil over springs and adjustable rear springs lower the ride height of the Spark Z-Spec Concept while also improving handling. On the inside, the Z-Spec Concept Spark wears seats a black and Salsa Red theme on the seats, door panels and instrument panel along with stainless steel pedals and sill plates.
Considering that size of the Chevrolet Performance display at the 2012 SEMA Show, we can expect these four Chevy Spark compacts to be just the first of the cars to be teased ahead of SEMA.
