The new BMW 1 Series M Coupe is one of the sexiest compacts on the road today but at the 2011 SEMA Show, Custom Performance Engineering and RevoZport brought out an all-matte-black 1 Series M Coupe fitted with a variety of CP-E performance products to make it as great as it looks with the new 1M Raze P450 kit.
Although this slick matte BMW 1 Series M Coupe was not in some gigantic display in the middle of the floor packed with flashing lights and hot little models, the look of this car drew spectators like a magnet to a steel beam. The exterior was designed and executed by the folks at RevoZport, who offered a huge selection of carbon fiber bits to lighten up the car and provide a more aggressive look. This begins up front with a 2-piece adjustable front splitter, a vented hood, and new carbon kidney grills and as you move to the greenhouse, this blacked out 1 Series M Coupe features a carbon fiber roof (with a spoiler), side sills and Forgeline racing wheels. Across the back, the Bimmer dubbed “The Black Knight” gets a carbon fiber trunk, spoiler, adjustable GT style wing, and lower diffuser that houses the bright polished exhaust system.
Custom Performance Engineering left the exterior up to the folks at RevoZport but when it came to performance, CP-E didn’t take any short cuts. The performance modifications begin with a new front mount intercooler, a unique charge pipe system featuring a Tial blow off valve, a dual cone intake system, 3” stainless steel downpipes and a full stainless catback exhaust system – all designed and offered by CP-E. CP-E then added a meth-injection kit from Alcohol Injection Systems and in conjunction with the unique CP-E Standback engine controller and the ProFuel controller, the power of this 1 Series M Coupe is boosted to produce a whopping 450 horsepower at the rear wheels. I had a chance to speak with Dmitriy Orlov of CP-E and he explained to me that 450hp is their safe number so there could be a higher output with more testing but for the sake of argument, the 1 Series M Coupe shown in the gallery on the right and in the video below pounds down some 450whp – while also tipping the scales around 130 pounds lighter than the standard production 1M.
Finally, CP-E bolstered the performance of this satin black BMW 1 Series M Coupe with a Performance Friction big brake kit and a Moton Club Sports remote adjustable coilover package. Finally, the handling of this 1M is enhanced with help from a Vorshlag camber plate package and Swift racing springs. Inside, this car is made more race-ready with a set of Sparco racing seats and harnesses and a Piper Motorsports roll cage and rear seat delete.
The BMW 1 Series M Coupe is truly a work of automotive engineering but with help from Custom Performance Engineering and RevoZport, their new 1M Raze P450 turns this sporty little Bimmer into a compact supercar. Not only does their modded up 1 Series M look amazing but with a lower curb weight and gobs more power than the standard production BMW – this package will help 1M owners forget all about their larger M vehicles.
