The first highly detailed 64th scale version of the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat will arrive later this year from Greenlight Collectables when the 16th series of the GL Muscle line hits stores in September – giving Hellcat enthusiasts their first chance to get a higher quality diecast collectable with greater detail than the Hot Wheels version.
In the world of American automotive performance, few names have gathered as big a following as quickly as the Hellcat Dodge Charger and Challenger. In addition to having a catchy name, the Hellcat-powered Challenger and Charger are the most powerful full production cars in American automotive history while being among the quickest and fastest cars in the world. In the case of the Hellcat Charger, there is no full production sedan sold in the world which can go head to head with this 707hp, 204mph, low 11-second car while the Hellcat Challenger is simply the most powerful American muscle car ever built for road use.
These claims of being among the strongest, quickest and fastest cars in the world have made the Hellcat Challenger and Charger big sellers for Dodge, but these high performance beasts have also created a massive enthusiast following. These are folks who aren’t likely to buy the Hellcat cars, but they have a passion for the 707hp Challenger and Charger that is satisfied in other ways. These are the folks who we see waiting in line at big auto shows to get their picture taken with the cars and these are the folks who will buy whatever they can with the Hellcat logo. From magazines to video games to shirts to toy cars, the enthusiast market is chock full of folks looking to show off their Hellcat Dodge enthusiasm with collectables and come September, the highest quality Hellcat Dodge toy will hit shelves courtesy of the folks from Greenlight Collectables.
GL Muscle 2016 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat in TorRed
The 2016 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat from Greenlight Collectables is part of the GL Muscle model line, arriving in the 16th series in 1/64th scale – similar to the well-known Matchbox and Hot Wheels toy cars.
As you can see in the image above, the Greenlight Hellcat Charger is finished in bright TorRed with black wheels and unlike the Hot Wheels SRT Charger (which is a Hellcat minus the name), the wheels of the Greenlight car are accurate depictions of the rollers on the real thing. The Greenlight Hellcat Charger, like most of the items from Greenlight, is intended to be an exact replica of the real thing, so the GL Muscle Charger has more intricate details than other toys in the headlights, across the rear end and inside of the car.
Of course, this detail comes with a little more cost, and collectors can expect to spend a few more dollars on the Greenlight Hellcat Charger than they will on the Hot Wheels version. The Hot Wheels 2015 Dodge Charger SRT can be found at most stores for 99 cents, while the Greenlight 2016 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat will cost anywhere from $4.99 to 6.99 depending on where you are shopping.
Greenlight Collectables are available at a long list of stores, including Walmart, Toys R Us, Hobby Lobby and more. Due to the popularity of the Hellcat Dodge cars in the collectable world, I expect that this mini Hellcat will be a hot item, but based on Greenlight’s production habits in the past – we can almost certainly expect to see more Hellcat Chargers from GL in the coming year.
