The first list of vehicles for Forza Horizon 3 has been announced and there are some Mopar heavy hitters on that list, including the Hellcat Challenger, the Hellcat Charger, several different Vipers and a couple of classic Mopar muscle cars – along with a few Jeeps, a pair of Fiats and a Chrysler 300 SRT.
Forza Horizon 3 is the next chapter in the incredible open-world racing series and the makers of the game are promising more than 350 vehicles when the new title hit shelves in September. The company has just announced the first list of vehicles - offering us a look at some 150 cars, trucks, vans and SUVs – and Mopar fans are likely to be happy with their options thus far.
As a reminder, this is just the first batch of vehicles officially in the game, with another 200+ expected to join this group when Forza Horizon 3 goes on sale later this year.
Forza Horizon 3 Dodge Vehicles
Of the FCA and Chrysler Group brands included on the first Forza Horizon 3 vehicle list, the Dodge brand is (not surprisingly) the best represented. Most notably, the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat will be available for use in the Australia-based racing game, and those modern Mopar muscle cars will be joined by a pair of classics – a 1969 Dodge Charger R/T and a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T.
There is also a 1999 Dodge Viper ACR, a 2013 SRT Viper GTS and the 2014 Dodge Viper GTS-R #94 race car.
I would expect that the full vehicle list will include more Dodge products, including the Neon SRT4, the classic Charger Daytona, a classic Dodge Hemi Dart and more Vipers – including the 2008 Viper ACR and possibly the newest Viper ACR.
Forza Horizon 3 Jeeps
The Jeep brand has the next greatest number of vehicles from FCA on the initial Forza Horizon 3 list, but they likely aren’t vehicles that you would expect in a racing game. Keep in mind, this is a “real world” driving game, so racers find themselves racing through the woods and along rough dirt roads, so tough SUVs make more sense than sports cars in some cases.
The 1945 Jeep Wills MB is the oldest vehicle on this preliminary list, and it is joined by the 1991 Jeep Grand Wagoneer and the 2012 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon.
I would expect that the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 will be included on the full list as well.
Chrysler, Other FCA Brands
Finally, the first list of vehicles for Forza Horizon 3 includes a smaller collection of vehicles from Chrysler, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Maserati and AMC. The 2012 300C SRT8 is likely the only Chrysler brand product on the game and the 1971 AMC Javelin AMX will likely be the only vehicle from American Motors.
Fiat fans will be happy to see the 1968 Abarth 595 Esseesse, the 1975 X1/9 and the 2010 Abarth 500 Esseesse while Alfa Romeo fans will be able to virtually cruise in the 1965 Giulia Sprint GTA Stradale, the 1968 33 Stradale and the 2014 4C. The Lancia brand is represented by the 1974 Stratos HF Stradale and the 1982 037 Stradale while Maserati has a huge variation in vehicle types with their 1961 Tipo 61 Birdcage and the 2014 Ghibli S Q4.
Other FCA Vehicles to Come?
In addition to the other vehicles discussed above which might be included on the full list such as the SRT8 Jeep, the newer Viper ACRs and more Dodge muscle cars, I expect to see some other familiar faces from FCA brands in the full game.
The RamRunner has been a popular choice in Forza Horizon 2 and Forza Motorsports 6, so I expect to see that modified production truck in the full game. I also wouldn’t be surprised to see the new Ram Rebel included as well.
There are no Plymouth vehicles included in this first FH3 vehicle list, but with models like the 1971 Hemi Cuda being a mainstay in pretty much every Forza game – I definitely expect to see some classic Plymouth muscle cars on the full game.
