Hellcat Dodge Charger Coming to Hot Wheels for 2016

The folks at Mattel got in on the popularity of the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat for 2015 and according to a Hot Wheels collectors website, the Hellcat Charger will be the next new Dodge SRT product to hit the toy car world – although like the Challenger, the Charger toy won’t actually sport the Hellcat name.

It has been many moons since a pair of cars from a single automaker have gotten the widespread attention of the 2015 Dodge Challenger and Charger in SRT Hellcat form, so it came as no surprise when Mattel’s Hot Wheels rolled out the 1/64th scale version of the 707hp Hellcat Challenger. The toy version of the Hellcat Challenger has proven to be incredibly sought after by Hot Wheels collectors, Mopar fans and little kids who just love Hot Wheels. In fact, it took me a few months to find one in a store for my own collection, so following up on the success of that Hellcat Challenger casting – there is a Hellcat Charger 1/64th scale toy car on the way as well. Click here for a closer look at the Hot Wheels Hellcat Challenger.

The Hot Wheels Hellcat Charger
According to the Hot Wheels enthusiast website T-Hunted, the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat will be arriving for the 2016 Hot Wheels lineup and it will look like the car shown at the top of this piece. The Hellcat head logo is amidst the black side stripes and this car has the same wheel style as the 2015 Hellcat Challenger. This Charger has the Hellcat-style hood and from the side view, it looks as though this Hot Wheels Charger has the distinct front and rear fascia of that Hellcat Charger, but perhaps I’m just being hopeful.

No Hellcat Name on the Package
While this Dodge Charger Hot Wheels toy is clearly a Hellcat model, the Hellcat name will likely not appear on the packaging when this car hits stores later this year or early next year. Back in July, we brought you the news that the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat had come to the world of Hot Wheels, known in toy form simply as the ’15 Dodge Challenger SRT. It has the Hellcat logo on the fender and the Hellcat logo stamped into the chassis, but the Hellcat name didn’t appear anywhere on the packaging or the car. This is likely due to the fact that these are children’s toys and some parents might not want their kid learning the word “Hellcat” – although teaching your kids about some of the greatest cars in American automotive history seems like parenting done right to me.

Regardless of the marketed name of this new Dodge Charger, it is most certainly the SRT Hellcat model and because of that, we can expect it to be another hot collectable when they hit the pegs at your local store. As soon as I manage to get my hands on one, I will be sure to post more detailed images, but there is no set information on the arrival of these 2016 cars – so it could be a while.

I have a 1:64 hot wheels white 2015 dodge charger srt hellcat still in the package that is missing the hellcat logo. Has this mistake happened to very many of these cars? Could my car be worth much?
