Just a few minutes ago, the DriveSRT Facebook page issued the newest teaser of the 2013 SRT Viper, giving us a shadowy look at the hood and roofline of the new supercar but with a little quick image enhancement – a great deal more of the new Viper becomes visible.
This newest teaser of the 2013 SRT Viper was introduced with lots of dark areas and intense lighting so that only the top surface of the hood, the mirrors and the roofline were visible. However, when one of our readers played with the settings on the image (as shown on the right), we get a better look at the wide stance of the car with huge flares shooting out from the sharp angles on the hood as well as a shadowy glimpse of the area occupied by the massive new headlights. After tinkering with the lighting in this image, the picture itself might not look great but what we see in the picture certainly gets out hearts racing in anticipation of the new Viper debut.
Even before the image enhancement, this new teaser of the 2013 SRT Viper is the best look yet at the new American supercar set to debut in just a few days. We get a clear look at the double-bubble roofline design that made its debut on the original Viper GTS Coupe; allowing added head room for both a driver and passenger wearing racing helmets. The 2013 Viper will get a set of pod shaped mirrors on thin pedestals that frame the narrowing greenhouse and if you look carefully between the side mirrors and the blackened windshield – you can catch a glimpse of the flared rear quarter panels.
Next, we can see that the 2013 SRT Viper will feature a large bulge in the center of the hood (making room for the 650+ horsepower V10 engine) with deep pockets flanking either side of the engine bulge. At the front of these pockets is what looks to be a set of air vents that would remove hot air from around the high performance engine and between those is a large air intake – presumably to help feed as much air as possible into the hungry V10.
As this article goes live, the debut of the 2013 SRT Viper is roughly 2 days, 1 hour and 20 minutes away so this could be the last teaser that Chrysler issues ahead of the big debut. Leading up to this best look yet at the new Viper, the SRT folks have shown off a bit of the interior (click here for more on that) along with a menacing look at the front end with some innovative lighting (click here for that first Viper teaser). We have already seen what could be the 2013 Viper in Hot Wheels form but with the debut just over two days away – we will soon know everything that there is to know about the next generation of the original American supercar.
Special thanks to Big Max for the heads up and the image alterations!
