Just this morning we brought you the news of Ford Motor Company teasing the 2013 Ford Mustang on one of their official company Facebook pages and now we have a look at that four-quadrant image with all four of the tightly cropped images cleared up courtesy of the folks at MustangEvolution.com – which offers a first look at the gauge cluster and the taillights of the 2013 Mustang.
Earlier today, we brought you a look at the grille of what looks to be the 2013 Ford Mustang Boss 302 and the projection headlight of the refreshed pony car but with the leaked images (click here for more on those new features), we get a look at the gauge cluster featuring the new quarter mile timer and the taillight of the 2013 Mustang.
First off, we learned a few months back that the 2013 Ford Mustang would be receiving the 4.2” LCD screen that we loved in the Ford SVT Raptor F150 but with special “Track Apps” to measure the vehicle’s performance. The new shot of the gauge cluster confirms that, with what looks to be the “Christmas tree” from a dragstrip between the large speedometer and tachometer – presumably to help measure that real world quarter mile capabilities of the 2013 Mustang. We still do not know which trimlines of the 2013 Mustang will receive the new central screen or the Track Apps, but this shot confirms that the popular accelerometer feature (previously offered on the Chrysler SRT vehicles) will come to the new Mustang.
The other image of the 2013 Ford Mustang that was unveiled by MustangEvolution.com shows an extreme close-up of the taillight – revealing a taillight featuring LED technology and more distinctly separated sections of the familiar three-lens housing. The taillights of the 2013 Mustang look to have a bold outer ring with a bright center section that form three distinct portions while the current Mustang has the three sections molded together with the reverse indicators serving as the divisions. Interestingly, spy shots of 2013 Mustang mules over the past few months have shown masked-up taillights with the reverse lights in the middle section of the taillights but the shot on the right seems to show all red lights and lenses on the middle and driver’s side outer lens. This leaves us wondering where the back-up lights will now be located but with the grand debut of the 2013 Ford Mustang coming later this week – it won’t be long before we know exactly what the new Mustang looks like.
