Toyota today set price points for its 2012 Yaris, Sequoia, Tundra and Sienna cars and trucks. Most vehicles are priced the same as 2011 models or reflect increases of 1% or less.
The Yaris liftback is all new and begins the next generation of the subcompact vehicle. The Sequoia is a sport-utility vehicle, the Tundra a full-size pickup truck and the Sienna a van.
Prices for the Yaris begin at $14,115 for the L grade three-door liftback with a 5-speed manual transmission and elevate to $17,200 for the SE grade 5-door liftback with a 4-speed automatic transmission. It adds more than $1,000 in additional standard equipment over the previous generation Yaris. Dealers take delivery of the Yaris beginning Sept. 1. Production begins Aug. 31.
High-grade Sequoia models get a 0.4% price increase of $239. Most Sequoias will be priced the same as 2011 models. The range for 2012 Sequoias is $40,930 for the 4x2 SR5 with a 4.6-liter V8 to $61,805 for the 4x4 Platinum grade equipped with the 5.7-liter V8. Assembly begins Aug. 29 on 2012 models.
The 2012 Tundra (pictured) sees a 1.1% price increase for higher-end models. That comes to $348 more than a comparably equipped 2011 model. In real dollars, the price range to drive a Tundra from a Toyota showroom is $27,115 for the 4x2 Tundra Grade Double Cab V6 with a 5-speed automatic transmission to $43,345 for the 4x4 CrewMax Limited with a 5.7-liter V8 and 6-speed automatic. Production of the 2012 truck begins Sept. 1.
The 2012 Sienna van goes up $174, or 0.5%, over 2011 prices. That increase is effective Sept. 6, when production launches. The range is $24,520 for the front-wheel-drive base Sienna to $40,570 for the all-wheel-drive Limited edition.
MSRPs for these 2012 Toyotas do not include the delivery, processing and handling fee. The fees: For the Yaris, $760; Sequoia and Tundra, $985; and Sienna, $810.
