Camp Jeep® on- and off-road course gives consumers opportunity to experience the abilities of the 2012 Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Visitors to this year’s Arizona International Auto Show will be able to see the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Wrangler’s 4X4 performance put to the test at Camp Jeep®, a 22,000- square foot exhibit being brought to the show by Chrysler.
Among the obstacles meant to simulate the testing Jeep vehicles go through are an 18-foot mobile mountain, a 30-degree wedge, and a 12 x 25 foot section of simulated fallen logs 18 inches in diameter, as well as a variety of different surfaces. The various obstacles are meant to show off Jeep ground clearance, suspension, articulation, stability, and traction. While consumers won’t be allowed to take the wheel themselves, they will get to sit in the passenger seat while a product specialist takes them on a five minute ride over the course.
Other manufacturers will also be represented at the show. Chevrolet will have several vehicles available for “ride and drive,” as will Ford, Hyundai, Kia, and Toyota. Ford will also be showing off a pre-production version of the 2013 Ford Taurus. While not available for test drives, there is also a luxury car area, featuring such brands as Bentley, Maserati, and Ferrari.
The Arizona International Auto Show is running from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, November 24 through Sunday, November 27, at the Phoenix Convention Center. Adult admission is $10. Tickets can be bought online or at the door. November 27 is Family Day, when children 12 and under who are accompanied by a paying adult get in for free. Spider-Man and Captain America will be making appearances on Family Day.
