The Nissan LEAF and the Nissan Rogue are becoming sales blockbusters as Nissan overall sees extremely high sales figures for August.
Nissan is reporting very high sales for the month of August 2014. Totals were 11.5 percent overall for both Nissan and Infiniti brands while Nissan itself saw a 15.3 percent jump over August 20213. This sets a new August record for not only the brand, but also for the Nissan LEAF and the Nissan Rogue models.
Nissan's new August record was set with a total of 125,224 units sold in the United States for August 2014, marking 22 consecutive months that Nissan retail sales have shown growth year-over-year. Topping that were Nissan Rogue sales.
The Rogue sold at the best rate of any month in the model's history at 21,419 units, 24 percent more than it did in August 2013.
Even higher gains were had by the Nissan LEAF, which posted 3,186 units sold for August 2014, a year-on-year increase of 31.7 percent. This is a new monthly record for the electric LEAF.
The Nissan Altima sold more units than any other Nissan vehicle, moving 32,153 units, a 3.8 percent uptick year-on-year.
The greatest gains were with the best-selling Nissan Versa, at 14,630 units, a smashing 46.4 percent over the previous year.
Nissan's Infiniti brand posted another year-on-year loss, dropping to 9,164 units for August 2014 from last year's 11,884 units.
