The car-media love for the Mazda3 just keeps on coming.
In the March 2015 Issue of Car and Driver, the magazine singles out the 2015 Mazda3 as having the best interior of any vehicle under $30K. That is high praise for the vehicle, but not new news. Here at Torque News we not only pointed out the Mazda3 for it s superb interior in our full review of the vehicle, we went further. We did a full comparison of the Mazda3 to the much more expensive, but shockingly similar inside Audi A3.
Car and Driver’s Thoughts on Mazda3’s Interior
CD nails the Mazda3’s vibe by saying “the 3’s cabin is as clever as it is classy.” CD for some reason hesitates to name names when it says “The navigation-and-entertainment unit takes its cues from luxury cars, with a bright, seven-inch center screen parked high on the dash and controlled via an intuitive knob on the console, or, if you prefer, by tapping the screen itself.” The automaker that Mazda took the cue from was Audi. Mazda’s rotary knob and smaller secondary knob for audio volume are almost identical to Audi’s as is the screen location and style.
What We Said About the Mazda3’s Interior
In our review of the Mazda3 2.0 Touring, we said, “The interior of this 2014 Mazda 3 Grand Touring is the first place that Mazda proves this car is to be taken very seriously. The dash is covered in a soft material and has a lot of sweeping lines. The center stack is well laid out.” You can read that full review here. We were also lucky enough to test the Mazda3 2.5 Grand Touring. Of that car we said “My test car had leather front seats with power and heat, a wonderful navigation and infotainment system, moon-roof, and the most amazing adaptive headlights in a car at this price point I have ever experienced.” For the full review on the 2.5 Grand Touring Mazda3 start here.
