U.S. News and World Report ranks the 2016 Miata ahead of all other sports cars.
The genius of the 2017 Mazda Miata, and, in fact, every Miata ever built, is that the car is a blast to drive on the road at speeds that won’t land you in jail. From the moment you get in the car makes the driver feel utter joy. With its new generation in 2016, the Mazda now adds improved performance to this mix of fun and affordability.
U.S. News said in its summary of the 2016 Mazda Miata, “…the Miata is exceptionally athletic and more engaging to drive than most of its similarly-priced rivals.” The publication is being way too kind. The truth is that the Miata is more engaging than many sports cars costing double or triple the $30K that a well equipped Miata costs to buy new.
However, this award is all about “for the money.” Here U.S. News goes deeper than MSRP and looked at the overall costs of the Miata. When repairs, insurance, depreciation, maintenance, and fuel costs are considered the Miata is the winner by a mile. Oh, and by the way, did we mention it has unlimited headroom?
