The Mazda6 is now a 15-year-old model for the Mazda family of automobiles. Since it was first introduced in 2002, the Mazda6 has been one of the most celebrated midsize sedans in America. We thought it would be fun to look back at some of the awards the sedan has won in its 15-year run.

Since its introduction, the Mazda6 has won over 22 major awards from the automotive publications that have tested it. The awards came in clusters partly because there have been three generations of Mazda6 cars.
Publications That Have Honored the Mazda6
Looking at the list of publications that have honored the Mazda6 it is easy to see that its appeal is broad-based. Car and Driver, Motor Trend, Popular Mechanics, and Automobile have all given the Mazda6 an award or named it to a top ten list. In fact, the Mazda6's first award came in 2003 when it was named to the Car and Driver Ten Best List in its first year of production.
Business Week, the New York Daily News, Money Magazine, U.S. News and World Report, and the Detroit News are some of the mainstream publications that chose the Mazda6 as a favorite.
Edmunds, Wards Automotive, IIHS, and Autobytel are some of the industry groups that have honored the Mazda6.
