One of the signature design elements of the American-made new Ford bronco is its soft top. Here's who makes it and where.
The new Ford Bronco has just begun to be produced in Ford's Michigan Assembly Plant. Our own Jimmy Dinsmore reported on June 15th that the Bronco had earned its OK To Build go-ahead. A key part of the Bronco's assembly is its soft-top. Those of us who try to buy American when possible will be pleased to know that the soft-top material is also made in America by the Haartz Corporation in Massachusetts.

Haartz has operations worldwide, but its HQ and primary manufacturing plant are in a Metro West suburb of Boston. With Boston leading the charge in the current anti-manufacturing sentiment in America, it is a miracle that the company still maintains a factory and workforce here. Haartz ships its material to a top builder who then supplies that assembly to Ford. This makes Haartz what is sometimes referred to as a "tier-two supplier."

A cloth softtop is a standard on all four-door models of the Bronco. The black softtop is made from Haartz’ Twillfast RPC three-ply material. Haartz also supplies material for the roof panel storage bags and the spare tire cover.
Haartz is a top supplier of convertible top and interior materials to the auto industry and just so happens to supply top materials to a company named Jeep who makes a vehicle you may have heard of called Wrangler.
