If you are looking for a great deal on a new car, this is your list.
Although shutdowns have affected the availability of some 2020 model year vehicles, many vehicles are still in stock in abundance. In fact, many popular models are still on dealer lots from 2019. Bargain hunters looking for a new vehicle should look carefully at this list of 2019 MY vehicles still available. Dealers will want to be rid of them, and are likely to offer big discounts.
This list was compiled by our friends at iSeeCars.com. Researchers at iSeeCars analyzed its national inventory of over 1 million new cars for sale to determine which models have more inventory from the 2019 model year available. The cars, crossovers, and trucks on this list provide opportunities for shoppers to get a good deal on a new vehicle and are likely to come with generous incentives. “A surplus of vehicles from the 2019 model year might remain on dealer lots because a car’s popularity is declining because car buyers want to wait for an upcoming redesign, or because dealers simply have too much inventory,” said iSeeCars CEO Phong Ly. “Automakers might also have a higher proportion of 2019 vehicles because production has been interrupted for 2020 vehicles due to the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Topping the list is the 2019 Dodge Caravan minivan. “The 2020 Dodge Grand Caravan is not available in 13 states due to emissions regulations, so dealers in those states are only selling new vehicles from the 2019 model year,” said Ly. “Current offers on a 2019 Grand Caravan include $4,250 cash allowance and 0.9 percent APR financing for 84 months.” Ly added, “Generous incentives are being offered on 2020 Charger and Challenger models including zero-percent financing and between $3,050 to $7,970 cashback.”
Trucks are the hottest type of vehicle for sale today. The full-sized Nissan Titan is the top truck on the list. “The 2020 Nissan Titan is discounted by up to $6,267, while the 2019 has almost $2,000 additional savings with up to $8,320 off MSRP,” said Ly. “Conversely, the Ford Ranger saw a 123 percent increase in 2020 sales over 2019, and plant shutdowns in the wake of the pandemic has led to lower-than-average inventory levels for 2020 versions of American trucks.”
Those looking for a crossover may want to consider a 2019 Volkswagen Atlas. “The popular Atlas was a top seller for Volkswagen in 2019 so there could have been increased production for 2019 models to meet demand, and since the 2021 Atlas has been released dealers will want to move 2019 inventory, ” said Ly.
