Former Integra Owner Returns To Acura, Leasing a 2024 RDX - Here’s Why

In this installment of “Why I Bought the Car I Did,” MA explains why he returned to the Acura brand after a 30-year break.

MA is a lifelong friend of mine who recently began looking for a replacement for his Jeep Grand Cherokee. After listening to his needs and wants, it was clear he was already pointed toward Acura. Here is how MA ended up in a 2024 RDX.

TN - Tell us about what you do and what type of vehicle best serves your needs
MA - I work at a university in downtown Boston. I live on the north shore, and my daily commute is 32 miles round trip. I don’t drive very much on the weekends, so I mostly need a comfortable car for commuting.

TN - What made you consider Acura?
MA -I had an Acura Integra in the early 1990s. It was a really fun car and one of the best cars I have ever owned. After it was stolen I downshifted to a Honda Accord, but was happy to return to Acura with this time around.

TN - What vehicle did you choose after your research and shopping?
MA -I read John Goreham’s piece on Acura’s RDX and MDX options. I had already done some research, but his coverage was essentially objective validation of what I had learned elsewhere. I went with the Acura RDX technology package. It had what I wanted and seemed like the best trim level for the money.

TN - Tell us a bit about what you like about this particular vehicle after you settled on it.
MA -I was happily surprised by the ample amount of legroom and head room. I’m 6’4” and that’s important to me. I also love the sound system and the way the car handles corners.

TN - Did the dealer have test vehicles for test drives, and was the vehicle you chose leased to you from dealership inventory?
MA - Yes, I had a good test drive, and the car I leased was on the lot with just 14 miles on the odometer. Ordering was not an option for me, so I'm glad the vehicle I wanted was in stock at my local dealer.

TN - Overall, how would you say the dealership experience was. Feel free to name the dealer or leave it anonymous.
MA - Overall, the experience was solid. It was a bit bloodless, but I have no complaints.

We’d like to thank MA for sharing his shopping impressions and images with us. It was very satisfying to hear that our reviews helped seal the deal and hope he has much luck with his new 2024 Acura RDX.
