The all-new Mazda CX-3 compact crossover looks great in its final production version.

Mazda has a handful of great looking cars and crossovers. The Mazda3 and CX-5 both look good on the road and rival premium makes’ designs. However, as the photos show here, the new Mazda CX-3 is a real looker.

Mazda CX-3 – Raised Mazda3 or Squashed CX-5?
When you look at the new 2015 CX-3 is it the Nose of the Mazda3 you notice first, or is it the CX-5 crossover’s profile you see? The CX-3 definitely has that “Squashed CX-5” look, in the same way that the Audi TT looks a lot like a squashed VW Beetle. That is to say “better.”

The front of the car looks much like any other Mazda and has the signature upright grill. Moving back a sweeping hip line runs first up from the front fender then arcs down to the mid-point of the rear fender. That allows for the top of the rear fender to appear more beefy and rugged looking. The deeply sculpted running boards in black with a small silver trim line add to the tough look.

Mazda Competes with Audi A3 and Mercedes GLA?
The rear of the CX-3 looks a lot like a new Mercedes GLA. In fact, just as the Mazda3 when fully optioned is capable of reaching up to compete with an A3 (successfully based on our testing), the new Mazda CX-3 may do the same with the Mercedes GLA.

MazdaCX-3 interior Design
Inside the new CX-3, the photos shown by Mazda appear to include synthetic suede inserts on the seats. The two-tone look is fantastic. One small complaint I had with some Mazda’s I have tested was he too-dark interior colors. Some like everything black and dark inside a car. I prefer lighter interiors. The rest of the new CX-3 seems to mimic the Mazda3. The dash-mounted infotainment screen is there, as is our favorite part of the interior, the small volume button next to the MMI knob.
Overall, the Mazda design evolution seems to be getting better as time goes on. Feel free to share your opinion below.

I agree the CX-3 is not only the best looking SUV in its segment, but one of the best looking SUVs on the market, together with the Range Rover Evoque. Can´t wait to see it in person in Geneva next month. I wish Honda would be capable of such a crisp, harmonic design. The new HR-V is bland in comparison.
