The 2014 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo is here and it gets a number of high-tech upgrades and standard features for the 2014 model year.
The new 2014 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo has arrived and gets some noteable upgrades for 2014. While the high-performance sports sedan doesn’t get any drivetrain changes, it does feature some high-tech upgrades to the navigation system. The big changes are coming to the new fourth-generation Evo XI that should be unveiled sometime next year. For now we still have the current generation performance model for performance enthusiasts.
What’s new for 2014?
The 2014 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo doesn’t get huge changes, but it does get some new features and is track proven and ready. It now comes with a new touchscreen audio interface and satellite radio as standard, along with a revamped optional navigation system that is available on both trim levels.
A new 6.1-in. touchscreen display audio system with digital HD Radio is standard on both GSR and MR It also comes standard with 140-watt AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio unit with 6 speakers. Buyers can opt for the optional 710-watt Rockford Fosgate premium sound system with 9 speakers including 10-inch dual-voice coil subwoofer with Punch Control, DTS Neural Surround, PremiDIA-WIDE Surround, and Dolby Volume.
SIRIUS XM satellite radio with 3-month pre-paid subscription is now standard on both GSR and MR models. But the biggest news is the Evo can be ordered with an available MMCS navigation system ($2,600) with 7-in. high-definition touchscreen, voice command, 3D mapping, point-of-interest information, real-time traffic and Mapcare which includes two map updates. Controls on the new 2014 Evo are within easy reach and simple in operation, and the standard Fuse voice activation system makes some audio and navigation functions hands-free.
Lancer Evolution GSR option packages
The 2014 Evo can be ordered with these optional packages. A Sight and Sound Package ($2,000 GSR) adds: 710-watt Rockford Fosgate premium sound system with 9 speakers including 10-in. dual-voice coil subwoofer with Punch Control, DTS Neural Surround, PremiDIA-WIDE surround, and Dolby volume; High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights with manual leveling; FAST-key entry system.
The Sunroof and Leather Package ($1,800 GSR) adds: Power glass sunroof; leather seating surfaces for Recaro seats; heated front seats; center console upgrade; leather armrest; improved sound insulation.
Lancer Evolution MR option packages
A Premium Package ($1,900 MR) adds: 710-watt Rockford Fosgate premium sound system with 9 speakers including 10-in. dual-voice coil subwoofer with Punch Control, DTS Neural Surround, PremiDIA-WIDE surround, and Dolby Volume; FAST-key entry system; leather/suede combination seating surfaces for Recaro seats; center console upgrade; chrome grille surround and beltline molding, body color fender and hood vents.
Touring Package ($2,150 MR) adds: Power glass sunroof; leather seating surfaces for Recaro seats; heated front seats and side mirrors; auto on/off headlights; rain-sensing wipers; auto dimming rearview mirror and improved sound insulation.
As 2013 marks the 30th anniversary in North America for the Mitsubishi brand, the Lancer Evo has been around since 1992 for performance enthusiasts.
