Subaru has announced record sales for the month of February in the U.S. with the WRX leading the way, and expects the 2014 Forester to keeps sales hot when it launches this month.
Last year Subaru introduced two new vehicles that helped the Japanese automaker reach record sales for four consecutive years. The all-new 2013 BRZ two-door coupe and 2013 XV Crosstrek crossover helped propel sales in 2012. Even before the launch of the all-new 2014 Forester, Subaru has announced record U.S. sales for the month of February. And Subaru is counting on the new Forester to be a big hit when it’s launched this month. Consumers around the globe are already clamoring for the new crossover.
The new 2014 Forester launches this month
The new 2014 Forester was launched in Japan just a month ago with much media and consumer interest and orders in Japan exceed 8,000 in its first month and more than quadruple its monthly target. It looks like the fourth-generation Forester is already a big hit around the globe. In the U.S., interest for the new crossover is high and it should be an instant hit with mid-size SUV buyers.
U.S. sales keep climbing
Subaru is on a roll, and in its largest market, U.S. sales have been increasing every month. Subaru of America, Inc. reported 28,163 vehicle sales for February 2013, which represents an 11 percent increase over February 2012 and the best ever February in company history. And year-to-date sales for Subaru keep increasing with a total of 55,826 units sold for a 16 percent increase over the same period in 2012. Last year, Subaru achieved four consecutive years of sales increases and exceeded 300,000 annual sales which was a first in company history.
The Impreza WRX is hot
The 2013 Impreza WRX leads the way in February with strong sales and saw a 71.1 percent increase over the same two month period last year. The sporty Impreza WRX also saw a 61.2 percent increase over the month of February 2012. The Impreza WRX and WRX STI are popular models for the Japanese automaker and appeal to a new generation of buyers. Subaru’s appeal is extending beyond the loyal faithful who helped the brand build a strong reputation here in the U.S. and North America.
Subaru has been on a tear this last year and has gained multiple awards for many of its cars around the globe both in quality and safety. “Subaru vehicles continue to win awards and recognition from the industry press and our customers are purchasing our products in record numbers,” said Thomas J. Doll, executive vice president and chief operating officer, Subaru of America, Inc. “With the addition of the all-new 2014 Forester being introduced this month, we are confident that we will establish another all-time monthly sales record again in March.”
The 2013 Subaru WRX is hot and leads the way in sales, and the new Forester is ready to launch with much improved new engines, improved fuel mileage and new high-tech features. Subaru is looking for the all-new fourth-generation crossover to sell in even greater numbers than the outgoing model. Look for the U.S. launch of the new 2014 Subaru Forester this month.
