BMW says on their 2016 3 Series website that the new 2016 BMW 335i xDrive Gran Turismo is lightning fast. How fast is it from 0-60?
Based on BMW's claimed 0-60 second sprint time shown at the bottom of their 3 Series Gran Turismo models and specs page, it appears the 335i xDrive is the single fastest automobile in the world from 0-60 mph. The 328i xDrive is quite a bit slower at 0-60 in 6.1 seconds. Of course, there is a 61 horsepower difference between the two and a $6,200 price difference.
How fast is 335i xDrive from 0-60?
It’s always fun to catch mistakes on a manufacturers website and our own John Goreham caught this one for us this weekend. It seems that whoever was proofreading this page missed the 2016 BMW 335i xDrive Gran Turismo 0-60 specs. The website shows a sprint from 0-60 in just 0.0 seconds making it the fastest vehicle on the planet.
The actual sprint time on the new 335i xDrive Gran Turismo is 5.1 seconds making it high on the fun-to-drive meter. Another mistake was made on the page as they say the new 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline six develops 301 horsepower. But the numbers on the engine power specs say it produces 300hp and 300 lb ft of torque.
Whoever edited the page must have done it on a Monday or a Friday. We would imagine someone will catch this mistake after the long Labor Day weekend after they’ve had a few cups of High Octane this morning. You can check out the BMW mistake here and scroll to the bottom of the 2016 BMW 335i xDrive Gran Turismo models and specs page.
