Subaru of America announced pricing and upgrades on the 2022 Subaru Outback, including the all-new Outback Wilderness sub-brand trim level. The 2022 model change gets a few new updates customers looking for a new midsize SUV will want to know about before buying a new vehicle. Here are the complete model change pricing and details.
Customers don't have to buy aftermarket LED fog lights any longer. The newest upgrade for 2022 Outback are LED fog lights, now standard equipment on all trim levels. They should improve night-time visibility and safety. 2022 Outback Premium trims now feature rear ventilation in the center console for enhanced climate control throughout the cabin.
What is the price of the 2022 Subaru Outback?
The 2022 Outback comes in eight trim levels; the base trim is priced from $27,845 (+$225), Premium ($30,270 +$175), Limited ($34,720 +$75), Touring ($38,620 +$75), Onyx Edition XT ($36,270 +$75), new for 2022, Outback Wilderness ($38,120), Limited XT ($39,120 +$75), and Touring XT ($41,070 +$75). Pricing includes $1,125 destination and increase of $75 over the previous year.
All 2022 Outback trims come standard with all-wheel-drive, X-Mode with hill-descent control, 8.7-inches of ground clearance, and EyeSight driver assist safety technology with advanced adaptive cruise control with lane centering.
They also come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, LED steering responsive headlights with high beam assist, a rear vision camera with adaptive guidelines, and LED fog lights.
The base trim comes with a 2.5-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine, Starlink dual 7.0-inch Multimedia system with an upper 7-inch touchscreen with audio controls, and a lower 7-inch screen that accesses the climate control system and controls for EyeSight, X-Mode, and other vehicle systems. The multimedia system offers AM/FM/HD radio, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth.
The Premium trim adds heated seats and mirrors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, 11.6-inch Starlink multimedia plus, 10-way power driver seat, and two USB charging ports in the rear section of the center console. As mentioned above, 2022 Outback Premium trims now feature rear ventilation in the center console for improved climate control throughout the cabin.
The Outback Onyx Edition XT comes with a 2.4-liter turbocharged engine, hands-free power rear gate, 180-degree front view monitor, dual-mode X-Mode, and a full-size spare tire. Onyx Edition XT also comes with black-finish exterior elements, 18-inch alloy wheels and badging, as well as a gray two-tone interior with water-repellent StarTex upholstery.
What new features does the 2022 Subaru Outback Wilderness include?
The Outback Wilderness is a new sub-brand of off-road-ready models for North American customers. Wilderness comes standard with the 2.4-liter turbocharged engine, hands-free power rear liftgate, 180-degree front view monitor, and a full-size spare tire. Outback Wilderness is also equipped with an advanced dual function X-Mode, Yokohama Geolandar all-terrain tires, and unique exterior and interiors accents.
The suspension on Outback Wilderness has been upgraded with front and rear shock absorbers and springs with increased length offering more suspension travel and 9.5 inches of ground clearance. Read the complete Wilderness details here.
An option package is available for Wilderness trims ($1,845) that comes with a power moonroof, Starlink 11.6-inch multimedia with navigation, and reverse automatic braking.
Limited trim adds leather seats, heated rear seatbacks, rear A/C outlets, and keyless access with push-button start. Added safety features include reverse automatic braking and blind-spot detection with lane change assist and rear cross-traffic alert.
Limited XT gets the 2.4-liter turbocharged engine and upgrades, including a power moonroof, heated steering wheel, 11.6-inch multimedia navigation, Harman Kardon premium audio with surround sound, and DriverFocus distraction mitigation system.
Touring adds a 180-degree front view monitor, automatic power-folding mirrors, and ventilated seats. The Touring gets unique exterior and interior accents and Java Brown Nappa leather upholstery. The Outback Touring XT comes with all the standard equipment of the Touring and adds the 2.4-liter turbocharged engine.
