The all-new 2013 BMW X1 Powder Ride Edition and Concept K2 Powder Ride are two new special vehicles that will make winter driving fun.
It's time to put away the Jet Skis and get out the snow skis because Colorado just received its first snow in the high country. And Colorado ski areas are in a race to see which one opens first. The 2013 BMW X1 was already a great vehicle to navigate Vail pass, but it just got better. BMW has released information on a new model that will be available in U.S. showrooms just in time for winter fun. BMW calls the new winter variant the X1 Powder Ride Edition. The new X1 is tailored for those who live in areas where they will take the sporty ride to the ski slopes. For those who drive over high mountain passes to get to the slopes know how much fun winter driving can be in the right vehicle.
BMW is also introducing a new concept car that follows on the same winter driving theme and will bring the Concept K2 Power Ride to the Los Angeles International Auto Show in November for its debut. BMW notes that the Concept K2 Power Ride is a “reflection of the adrenaline rush of full-speed downhill fun.” The two winter cars will both be available just in time as the snow falls and skiers and boarders hit the slopes.
Exclusive equipment on the X1 Powder Ride Edition
The all-new BMW X1 Edition Powder Ride is a perfect vehicle for the task that is ready to transport skier and borders up the mountain. The special-edition model features the xLine, roof rails in Aluminum satinated trim and a storage package. A whole host of winter accessories comes standard. The new winter model features a 460 roof box, a ski and snowboard bag sporting with a specific design created just for this model, all-weather floor mats and a fitted luggage compartment mat.
The BMW X1 Powder Ride Edition comes with a number of xLine design and equipment features both inside and out. They include matt Glacier Silver exterior, special 18" light-alloy wheels and door sill strips, a sports leather steering wheel with multifunction buttons, fabric/leather upholstery for the seats, trim strips in dark copper, and ambient interior lighting. It can also be ordered with a number of special exterior paint colors. Contributing to the unmistakable look of the special-edition is a decal on the doors and wheel arches of the compact Powder Ride Edition.
Another special highlight has been lined up for the new special X1 edition. BMW notes that anyone who purchases the new winter model will receive an exclusively designed pair of K2 LTD Powder Ride skis. The skis will only be available in conjunction with the X1 Powder Ride Edition.
The market launch of the 2013 BMW X1 Powder Ride Edition is scheduled for November 2012 and the special-edition model will be available in the U.S. in both BMW X1 xDrive28i and X1 xDrive35i variants.
