Land Rover has released Canadian pricing for the new 2013 Range Rover Evoque and they will pay close to $10,000 more for new Dynamic model over a U.S. model.
If you live in Canada and want to purchase a 2013 Range Rover Evoque, you will be paying a lot more for the new crossover than your U.S. neighbors. Land Rover has released pricing on the Canadian models and they are considerably higher than U.S. model pricing. We knew from a recent trip to Calgary this summer that prices in Canada are much higher than here in the U.S., but the extra that our neighbors to the north will pay for the new 2013 Evoque seems exorbitant.
For the 2013 Range Rover Evoque five-door Pure, which is the new entry model, Canadians will pay $6,142 more than the same U.S. model. If Canadian buyers choose the top-of-the-range Dynamic Premium Coupe, they will pay an extra $9,570 more than the same vehicle here the U.S. That’s a 13 percent increase in price for the base model Pure and close to an 18 percent increase for the top model.
When you figure in the price for a liter of gasoline, the cost to own a new Evoque in Canada goes up even more. Canadians pay $1.30/liter for gasoline where we pay the equivalent of $0.97/liter here in the U.S. All 2013 Evoque models come equipped with a 240 horsepower turbocharged, direct injected 2-liter 4-cylinder engine and they get good fuel mileage. The Evoque is rated 28 mpg EPA highway and 20 mpg EPA city fuel economy (23 combined). For our Canadian friends that figures highway 7.1 L/100km, city 10.6L/100km and combined 9.0 L/100km4.
The 2013 Range Rover Evoque is still a popular vehicle in Canada and offers good all-weather capability. It comes with a full-time intelligent all-wheel-drive system with an electronically-controlled Haldex center coupling. The suspension is built for multi-terrain conditions and the driver can select different programs depending on conditions. But Canadians will pay much more for the popular new crossover.
Below are the new Canadian prices for the 2013 Range Rover Evoque and the difference in price they pay over U.S. pricing. Not all U.S. models are offered in Canada.

This vehicle is HOT! I would
This vehicle is HOT! I would consider purchasing but the pricing in Canada is just too much to swallow......I can't believe how much Canadians are being charged. I'm sure Land Rover sales would be very high if the price was comparable to US pricing!!!!
Land Rover Evoque 2013 I was
Land Rover Evoque 2013
I was about to do a deal when I did some more homework. I realized how much more expensive this vehicle is in Canada versus the USA. And the USA 2013 Evoque price was just cut further by $2,000, but 0 discount in Canada, the MSRP on the evoque is the same as 2012 and 10K-12K more than the US.
After considering the
(a) FORD engine
(b) poor visibility out the back and sides
(c) fixed sun-roof that does not open for fresh air
(d) reverse camera system has no distance indicators
(e) styled for women (according to the sales rep)
(f) Seriously Overpriced in Canada versus the USA
I decided to go to the competitors. Lots of great cars like the Audi, Infiniti, ... that will hold their value much better and are offering way better lease rates.
Well best of luck to Land Rover, with the limited quantities I'm sure they'll still do well. It is an appealing looking SUV if you overlook a-f above. Of course 'when' they do cut the price good luck to the past customers on their resale values.
