Many BMW enthusiasts take their new BMW M3/M4 purchase to an extreme. Would you travel to Munich to take delivery of your new BMW?
You would expect sports personalities like the fastest man in the world, Usain Bolt to do it, but 2,250 Canadians and U.S. buyers traveled to Munich to take delivery of their new BMW this year. In June, 2014, a group of Canadians traveled to Munich, Germany and had the experience of their life. They took delivery of their new 2015 BMW M3 sedans and M4 coupes and then departed from Munich on a trip across Europe in their new performance cars. At the end of the trip, the cars were shipped back to their owners in Canada.
The BMW Welt experience
The BMW Welt is a customer experience like none other. BMW opened the Munich customer experience center in 2007. The experience center has established itself not only as a desirable event venue and “gourmet destination”, but also as a popular delivery point for new owners to pick up their BMW vehicles. Every year a growing number of customers from all over the world opt to collect their new BMW in Munich. In 2014, the BMW Welt set a new record of 22,500 vehicle-delivery customers.
Vehicle delivery at BMW Welt
Any BMW customer in the world has the option of picking up their new vehicle at the BMW Welt. BMW gives the customer an unforgettable experience as they take delivery of their new BMW. It’s at the heart of what BMW tries to give every customer. Helmut Kas, head of BMW Welt says, “The success of this service shows that we offer customers exactly what they want, a unique experience with an individual program for each customer.”
Many sports personalities “sampled” the BMW brand experience this year. Several vehicles were presented to the German Ice Hockey Federation in January 2014, and the world’s fastest man, Usain Bolt, also had his photo taken with his new BMW M3 in the BMW Welt delivery arena.
A unique experience
The Canadians traveled a long distance to take advantage of the BMW Welt delivery option, but they were rewarded for their effort. They each received personal attention with an individual program for the day of delivery. They could also choose to have a reception in the exclusive Premium Lounge, take a tour of the main plant and the BMW Welt, or visit to the BMW Museum.

But the big highlight of the day for these Canadian customers was when they were presented their new M3 sedans and M4 Coupes. After a personalized one-and-a-half hour vehicle briefing from a specialist, each Canadian customer received the keys to their new BMW M3/M4 and was able to drive their performance car for the first time in the BMW Welt delivery area.
The group then drove from Munich on a trip across Europe in their new 2015 BMW M3 Sedans and BMW M4 Coupes. At the end of the trip, the cars were loaded up and shipped back to their owners in Canada.
