There is good news if you are looking to buy or lease a new 2020 Subaru Forester, Crosstrek, Impreza or WRX. See why they are the best buy for shoppers.
What makes the 2020 Subaru Crosstrek the best subcompact utility, Forester best compact utility, Impreza the best compact car, and WRX the best sports car? They all win their individual segment in ALG’s Residual Value Awards. This is good news for customers looking to buy or lease one of these new models because they are predicted to hold value better than all others.
What does that mean for you?
You won’t notice any difference until you are ready to sell your new 2020 Subaru Forester, Crosstrek, Impreza or WRX in a few years. That’s when you will get a better trade-in value for your all-wheel-drive Subaru. According to ALG’s analysis, these four Subaru vehicles are projected to retain their value the strongest after three years of ownership compared to other vehicles in their individual segment.
If you are buying or leasing a new Subaru vehicle, shoppers can expect to get more value than most other brands. This could potentially save you hundreds of dollars when you go to sell your vehicle or at trade-in, because it’s that much less you have to finance on the new car you are looking to buy or lease.
Until this year, Subaru had won the ALG Residual Value Award for the Best Mainstream brand. Their entire lineup was awarded best over any other automaker. This year, Honda takes the prestigious award away from Subaru. Previously, Subaru scored number one in the last four years, 2016-2019.
Is Honda better than Subaru?
Historically, Subaru has been the best automaker when it comes to depreciating less than other brands. ALG analyzes each vehicle segment, historical vehicle performance, and industry trends while factoring in quality, production levels relative to demand, pricing, and marketing strategies. Subaru has captured a total of forty-one ALG Residual Value Awards since 2010. Honda last won the best Mainstream brand award in 2014 and is also a good automaker to check out if you want to save money.
In another study by iSeeCars you can read about here, Outback is listed as the number three vehicle in the Subaru lineup as depreciating the least. The new 2020 Subaru Forester, Crosstrek, Impreza and WRX are best-in-class for depreciating less than other vehicles according to ALG, but the entire Subaru lineup has historically been at the top.
