You better pay attention to the Kia brand because they are on the move. Check out the hot new Kia Stinger.
You will be paying more attention to the Kia brand because of the new Stinger. A recent report from Kia says the hot new Stinger Sport Utility Sedan (SUS) is going to be the loudest car they’ve ever built in America. The Stinger is Kia’s promise to follow through with a production model of the GT Concept.
The hot new production sedan was designed in Frankfurt, and developed on the Nurburgring to produce Kia’s highest-performance production vehicle in the company’s history. Performance enthusiasts will like what Kia has done with the new Stinger.
Stinger is available with a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 Lambda II engine, producing 365 horsepower and 376 lb.-ft. of torque. That’s more hp than the Audi S5 Sportback, BMW 440i Gran Coupe, and Infiniti Q50. The Stinger GT jumps from 0-60mph in 4.7 seconds, quicker than the Porsche Panamera 6 cylinder, and has a governed top speed of 167 mph.
A recent report from CNET says, the production Stinger will be louder in America than other areas of the globe where it will be sold. In an interview with Orth Hedrick, Kia’s vice president of product planning, he stated the American-made Stinger will be louder with a “richer exhaust note” than other global models.
It’s to satisfy U.S. performance enthusiasts because Americans likes their performance cars loud. CNET says Kia’s U.S. executives had to convince management in Seoul "to develop a richer exhaust note, a change that involves moving baffles within the muffler to yield less restriction."
So Americans will be paying more attention to the new 2018 Kia Stinger when it roars down their street. The Stinger will go on sale in the U.S. in December. Final pricing will be announced closer to the vehicle’s launch date.
