If you own a Subaru WRX STI, you want to push it to its limit. Here’s how you can do it without getting a ticket.
The Subaru WRX STI is a performance machine designed for extreme driving in the winter on loose surfaces like snow and ice, but where do you get the experience to do it safely without getting a ticket, or worse, wrecking your car? Subaru has renewed their partnership with DirtFish Rally School in Snoqualmie, Washington so you can learn the skills in a safe environment with no cops around.
Subaru is providing new 2018 Subaru WRX STIs to DirtFish and they will be converted into “school cars” allowing the older STIs and BRZ sport coupes to be cycled out so you can drive the most current models on the roads and track. The school gives you training so you can experience Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and rear-wheel drive platforms to experience the full potential of both Subaru WRX STI and BRZ models.
DirtFish wants students to have the option to drive two cars that are very different. Anyone who's tried to drive a rear-drive sports car in ice and snow knows it's a challenge. That's why they sit in the garage all winter. The WRX STI comes with Subaru’s Symmetrical all-wheel-drive system, while the BRZ allows students to learn how to drive a rear-drive sports car in less-than-ideal conditions.
“Subaru vehicles are engineered to deliver maximum driver involvement, confidence, and control,” said Bill Stokes, Motorsports Manager for Subaru of America. “At DirtFish, driving enthusiasts and drivers of all levels can experience that engineering and performance, while developing their skills to be faster, safer and more consistent.”
The DirtFish Rally School isn’t just for professional drivers, but for anyone wanting to gain valuable driving skills in extreme conditions. Subaru remains the OEM vehicle of choice for students at the school. It’s a great place to push a new 2019 Subaru WRX STI or rear-drive Subaru BRZ to its limit without getting a ticket.
