The new Subaru Levorg sports tourer launches in Europe and gets top safety ratings. What did NCAP find when they smashed it?
Subaru has top safety rating across their entire lineup after their new Levorg sports tourer gets smashed by Europe’s New Car Assessment Program (NCAP). The European spec Levorg has won the highest five-star overall rating in the Euro NCAP safety performance test.
The Euro NCAP evaluates “Adult Occupant Protection”, “Child Occupant Protection”, “Pedestrian Protection” and “Safety Assist”. In its 2016 safety performance assessment, a new test checks how well vehicles autonomously detect and prevent collisions with pedestrians has been introduced. Subaru’s Levorg wagon, when equipped with EyeSight, showed good performance in the new test and received their five star rating.
Not the first high score for Subaru
This is the fifth time that Subaru has been honored with the five star rating from Euro NCAP following the 2009 rating for the Legacy sedan, 2011 rating for the Subaru XV (Crosstrek), 2012 rating for the Forester SUV and 2014 rating for the Outback wagon.
Top safety ratings across the planet
Subaru has the top rating across their entire lineup including Top Safety Picks from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in the US, and the highest possible JNCAP ASV+4 rating in the preventive safety performance assessment conducted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and the National Agency for Automotive Safety & Victims’ Aid (NASVA) in Japan.
Now Subaru’s Levorg sports tourer gives the Japanese automaker the top safety rating in Europe’s New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) safety performance test. Their entire lineup of the Forester, Outback, Crosstrek, Impreza, Legacy, WRX/STI and BRZ all get top safety ratings around the globe.
