Mitsubishi drops the EVO and Relliart performance models from the Lancer lineup. When will performance fans see the 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition?
The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution won’t be an option for performance fans for 2016 and beyond. Mitsubishi also drops the Relliart model from the 2016 model lineup and tames the Lancer sedan even more. What o\was once a formidable rally-bred performance car is now just a shell of its former glory.
Performance fans are still waiting to hear about the launch of the 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition model for the U.S. market. Mitsubishi teased fans at the North American headquarters in Cypress, CA for MOD2015.
2016 Mitsubishi Lancer GT Interior and Exterior
Mitsubishi announced at the event a few details about the U.S. spec Final Edition that will arrive in North America later this year. A company spokesperson said, there will be a "slight bump" in horsepower in the Final Edition, but the actual number was not officially announced.
Mitsubishi will still offer the Lancer GT trim level for 2016 that comes with sport-tuned suspension, larger disc brakes, 18 inch two-tone alloy wheels, sunroof and rear spoiler. The GT model is available as a 5-speed manual or with the new generation CVT8. Sportronic Steering wheel paddle shifters are also available for the GT trim.
Mitsubishi drops the Lancer Evolution and Relliart performance models from the 2016 lineup. The U.S. will get 1600 limited edition 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition models later this year. Full details have not been announced. Stay tuned.
