The all-new 2018 Stinger delivers heart-pounding power with the higher-performance GT starting at $38,350.
The all-new 2018 Kia Stinger fastback sport sedan could be the best performance value under $40,000 in America. Kia is on the move and Stinger is the highest-performance production vehicle in the company’s history. Kia Motors America just announced pricing for the highly anticipated sports sedan, and it’s coming in five trim levels; Stinger, Stinger Premium, GT, GT1, and GT2.
The South Korean automaker is moving into new territory with the Stinger GT performance Sports Fastback. It will compete with the Audi S5 Sportback, BMW 440i Gran Coupe, and Infiniti Q50. The Stinger GT launches from 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds and has a governed top speed of 167 mph.
New Stinger pricing
The Kia Stinger starts at $31,900. Jumping up to Stinger Premium has a starting MSRP of $37,100, The higher-performance GT starts at $38,350, GT1 has a starting MSRP of $43,250, and GT2 $49,200. Destination adds $900.
The high-performance Stinger GT comes standard with high-performance Brembo 4 disc brakes, and two turbocharged engines are available: The base Stinger and Premium trims get a 2.0-liter twin-scroll turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 255 horsepower with 260 lb.-ft. of maximum torque.
Stinger GT gets a more powerful 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 which produces 365 horsepower with 376 lb.-ft. of torque. Both engines are matched to a second-generation eight-speed rear-drive automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is also available across all trims ($2,200).
Inside, Stinger comes with leather seating and ultra-soft Nappa leather is available. A thick hand-stitched leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters sits front and center, while the GT trim gets a sporty flat-bottom steering wheel. All Stingers are available with a large color TFT instrument cluster with performance gauges including a track timer.
