The Subaru Outback gets more awards in Australia. See what's in it for families.
For the third year in a row, the Subaru Outback has been named the best all-wheel drive (AWD) under $50,000 in Australia. After vigorous testing by motoring clubs around the country, they picked the top 15 cars in five areas: value for money, safety, design, function and on-road features.
Cars were evaluated by seven of Australia’s leading motoring organizations: NRMA, RACV, RACQ, RAASA, RACWA, RACT and AANT. They use a broad range of criteria that are important for families to know when shopping for a new vehicle: value for money, design, and function, and on-the-road performance. The 2018 Outback comes out on top again in the all-wheel-drive Sports Utility Wagon under $50,000 (Australian Dollar) category.
RACQ Media says Outback has truly earned its place as one of Australia’s Best Cars. RACQ spokesperson Kirsty Clinton says, “There’s been a real shift to downsizing from larger four-wheel-drives and away from traditional sedans and wagons, to smaller more compact AWDs due to their versatility. The Outback is a practical and capable all-rounder with plenty to offer buyers.”

It’s named Australia’s Best All-Wheel-Drive Sports Utility Wagon under $50,000 3 years in-a-row. There’s plenty in it for families with its excellent value for the money (starting at $25,895 USD), all-weather, off-road capabilities, superior utility, and on-the-road performance.
