At this year’s New York International Auto Show, Scion will feature the 2015 Scion FR-S by Super Street.
The 2015 Scion FR-S by Super Street that competed in the 2014 Scion Tuner Challenge at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas last November is coming to NYIAS. At the Scion exhibit, they will also feature the Release Series vehicles: FR-S 1.0, and tC 9.0. The Scion FR-S by Super Street will get plenty of attention at the show.
The eye catching yellow 2015 Scion FR-S was built by Super Street, a magazine covering high-performance customized cars and lifestyle. They took the 2015 FR-S Release Series 1.0 and used inspiration from their first build, a British Racing Green/Rocket Bunny theme, turned up the power and went wider, wilder and louder.
The FR-S Super Street team
The FR-S was built by the Super Street team that included LTMW, Gearheinz and Rywire. The ultra hot bodywork was done by LT Motorworks, Gearheinz was brought in for their engine-building expertise and Rywire created a new engine harness that cleaned up the engine bay for show points and it also controls the drive-by-wire system for the ITBs.
FR-S gets major modifications
The 2.0-liter FA20 boxer engine was upgraded with Borla Induction 45mm DCOE ITBs, fuel rails and 70mm velocity stacks; Injector Dynamics 1000cc injectors and Borla header and catback exhaust with custom quad tips. The suspension was lowered with KW Clubsport coilovers, got new front/rear sway bars, and front control arms. The brakes are from Wilwood with 6-piston front big brake kit and 4-piston rear big brake kit with street pads. The FR-S gets custom 18×10.25 and 18×12.25 inch Floss Edition BBS LM wheels wrapped in Nitto NT05 275/35R18 and 295/35R18 tires.
