Volkswagen has released a new special model for 2013 called Golf Plus LIFE that is a five-door that comes with a big price advantage.
Volkswagen is launching a new special model of the Golf Plus model called Golf Plus LIFE in Europe. The new model has a comprehensive set of features and is priced from $27,931 U.S. for the 1.4-liter gas version (79 hp), compared to a standard range model with comparable specification with a price advantage of $4,479. The Golf Plus is highly popular in Europe and has sold over 850,000 units. The five-door car is functional and features a higher vehicle height over the standard Golf for easier access. The Golf Plus has a raised seat position allowing driver and passenger ease of entry and exit and also provides a clearer view in traffic.
Special Golf Plus LIFE
The launch of the new 2013 Volkswagen Golf Plus LIFE will give buyers a high specification model that comes loaded with features, but offers an attractive price. Features on the special model include Climatronic automatic climate control, a winter pack (including heated front seats and windshield washer jets), the RCD 310 radio, ParkPilot, the Light and Sight pack and the multifunction Plus display.
Inside, the cabin comes standard with “high-comfort” seats in the ‘Matrixline’ seat fabric, height adjustment, lumbar supports, storage under the front seats and a central armrest. The leather steering wheel scores through its multi-function and the leather gear shift knob and handbrake handle gives the interior a high-class feel.
A flexible interior
Many buyers are choosing the Golf Plus because of its highly functional and flexible interior space. The rear bench seat can be split and folded and slid lengthways by up to 6 inches, creating more room to transport larger cargo. The front passenger seat folds flat creating 7.5 feet of extra cargo room. The cargo carrying ability ranges from 14 cubic feet to a maximum of 17 cubic ft. If the rear seats are folded flat, up to 51 cubic ft. of cargo space is available.
Plus LIFE features outside
Outside, this special Plus LIFE model is set apart by the 16-inch ‘Spokane’ alloy wheels and the wording ‘LIFE’ on the front fenders. Chrome rims on the air inlet grilles, an LED license plate light, fog lights and tinted rear and side windows further distinguish the Golf Plus LIFE. As in most European vehicles, the Golf Plus LIFE is being offered with a multitude of engines. It features seven gasoline and six diesel engines. Also available as an alternative for the Golf Plus LIFE is BlueMotion Technology and the six or seven-speed DSG automatic transmission developed by Volkswagen.
An optional LIFE Plus pack ($1,251) is also available on the new Golf model that features an electric slide-and-tilt panoramic glass sunroof and the choice of either ‘Orlando’ or ‘Seattle’ 17-inch alloy wheels. The Golf Plus LIFE also comes with ESC (Electronic Stability Control) and a range of driver assistance systems are available, such as the XDS electronic differential lock, the ‘Park Assist’ parking assistant and the ‘Rear Assist’ reversing camera.
The all-new special model 2013 Volkswagen Golf Plus LIFE is a five-door “all-rounder” that gives buyers a high level of features but with a big price advantage over the standard Golf Plus. The new model is launching in Europe and won’t be available in the U.S. We can look for the all-new seventh-generation 2014 VW Golf on U.S. shores next year.
