It’s 1000 of 1000 special edition Scion FR-S Release Series 2.0. What’s up with the foot model?
When the 2016 Scion FR-S Release Series 2.0. came out last year, it was strange Scion was producing a “luxury” FR-S. Now things get a little stranger as Scion markets the luxury Scion. From its start in 2003, the economy brand has done things a little different. Scion is the test laboratory division for Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), in the U.S. Toyota says their goal is to “offer products and processes that stand apart from the crowd.” This video certainly does.
Scion markets the FR-S Release Series 2.0 in a strange way. A foot model with a diamond foot bracelet and diamond rings on her toes shows off the dash of the sports coupe numbered 1000 of 1000. Scion says they don’t want to get finger prints on the luxury model. Footprints must be ok.

It’s a special edition with only 1000 examples produced for the U.S. market. Scion must not be selling the luxury coupes. They were introduced back in October of last year and they’re still trying to market the luxury offerings.
Exclusive upgrades
The exclusive sports coupe comes with extra luxury upgrades over the standard model. Outside each FR-S Release Series 2.0 comes with a unique Lunar Storm exterior paint, a special aero kit with front lip and trunk spoiler, 17-inch TRD alloy wheels and HID Headlights with LED daylight running lights.
Inside, the special edition rear-drive coupes get a unique black and camel-colored theme. The Release Series 2.0 comes with heated Alcantara leather seats, leather-trimmed steering wheel and parking brake lever. The camel-colored theme continues on the door armrest and upper door trim and comes with black center armrest and knee pads. The model’s foot points out the special Release Series badge on the dash.
The 2016 Scion FR-S Release Series 2.0 luxury edition starts at $29,510 for the manual gearbox and $30,610 for the automatic transmission, excluding destination ($795). It’s a strange way to try and sell the 1000 luxury examples. If they upgraded the FR-S with a turbocharger and TRD racing upgrades, we bet they would sell out fast.
