Subaru, that makes the 2021 Forester, says they are more than a car company. What is the automaker doing to prove it?
Tom Doll, President, and CEO, Subaru of America, says, "Subaru believes in being more than a car company for the communities where we live and work," but what is the automaker that makes the 2021 Subaru Forester compact SUV doing about it? Subaru puts their money where their mouth is by donating 50,000 blankets to the most vulnerable in the communities where they live and work.
The homeless shelters across the country will receive the needed blankets this November. Doll says, "And donating blankets is just one piece of our commitment to helping those in need." Earlier this year, the Camden, N.J. automaker gave a generous donation to Feeding America, bringing 50 million meals to people most impacted by COVID-19 around the U.S.
The blanket donation is a part of the Subaru Loves to Help pillar, the community-focused initiative of the automaker's Love Promise. According to the Hunger and Homeless data, 549,000 Americans are homeless on a typical night.
Subaru is partnering with homeless shelters located all across the U.S. as nights get colder. Subaru says the 50,000 blankets will reach nearly 600 local homeless shelters as they recognize National Homeless Youth Awareness Month.
The website says as many as 2.5 million youths per year experience homelessness in America. The NCTSN says, "While trying to survive on the streets, youth are exposed to countless dangers, with an increased likelihood of substance abuse, early parenthood, impulsivity, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, and a vulnerability to being trafficked."

Subaru is known for its all-wheel-drive vehicles like the 2021 Forester, Outback, and Crosstrek, and you see the ads that talk about Love. They say they are more than a car company. It's more than just words. They are proving it with their actions.
