Subaru announced the winner of the REI Sweepstakes for a new Subaru Ascent. See who won the new family hauler.

What’s better than winning a new all-wheel-drive SUV? If you are 23-years-old, you may want a sporty hatch, but this adventure-seeker gets the biggest vehicle Subaru has ever produced, a new 2019 3-Row Ascent family hauler in the free REI Sweepstakes. Nicole Fisher, a native of Mountain View, California, received the Ascent and REI Co-op camping prize pack as her prize.

It was part of the Subaru and REI partnership hosting an adventure-focused experiential event series, during which attendees could opt-in to the sweepstakes or mail in an entry to win the new 3-Row Subaru SUV. Nicole was randomly selected from among the entrants, and she picked up the 2019 Ascent at Carlsen Subaru in Redwood City, California on February 14.

The 23-year old is a self-proclaimed adventure-seeker and recently moved to Lake Tahoe to spend more time pursuing her passion for camping and connecting with nature. The “go-anywhere” all-wheel-drive Ascent will get her away from civilization.

Ascent is a camping vehicle

Fisher is a pre-med major and is taking time to explore the great outdoors. She plans to use her new 3-row Subaru Ascent to camp in the Sierra Nevada mountains, as well as to kick off her latest hobby, split boarding. She won’t need to use the REI Co-op Grand Hut Six tent she won as part of the prize. All she needs to do is lower the two rows of seats, and she has plenty of room to sleep in the back of the large Ascent family hauler.

“Winning the Ascent is unreal. Subaru vehicles have an excellent driving ability in the mountains, so I’m really looking forward to taking it out on all types of terrain and access trails,” said Fisher. “Just last week it was -5 degrees in Tahoe, so I’m also really excited about the heated seats.”

Nicole can also make good use of the standard X-MODE on the 2019 Ascent. X-MODE can be used for extreme off-road situations, or for helping you get out of a sticky situation in the Sierra Nevada mountains. It’s also paired with Hill Decent Control that helps maintain a constant speed when traveling downhill enhancing vehicle control on a backcountry trail. The 23-year old may have wanted the smaller Crosstrek hatchback, but she will likely make good use of the large Subaru Ascent family hauler for a camping vehicle.

In 2017 Suburu teased us with the announcement of the 2018 Ascent! I waited 6 months for it to be released and I bought it. The best investment I've ever made! With the winter we've had in Nevada and traveling to work I've never felt safer and it surpasses my need for storage when we go on our adventures! Thank You Subaru for making the best car yet!

after just reading the header my first notion was live in it.
Its huge and like 35-50K like...wow they make mad money of STIs, but back to it that an expensive car for a young person and one that presumably does not work much to adventure a lot and have an apartment/ house. (googling price) 260 hp..why make the forester almost half that then? im disappointed Subaru.
