The 2021 Subaru Forester, Outback, Crosstrek, and Ascent are available now. Here is what you need to know before you buy.
Suppose you are shopping for a 2021 Subaru Forester, Outback, Crosstrek, Ascent, or another all-wheel-drive model. In that case, you can get a better deal than what Subaru of America advertises on its website. According to CarsDirect, customers can get a different interest rate and longer-term financing than what the Camden, N.J. automaker is advertising.
The report reveals a Subaru retailer incentive bulletin shows customers can get rates as low as 0.9 percent for 72 months. The longest advertised term is 63 months on 2021 Forester, Outback, Ascent, and Legacy. On a 2021 Ascent 3-Row SUV ($35,000), this unadvertised incentive can lower the monthly payment by approximately $56 and cost just $967 in interest.
Subaru advertises the 2021 Subaru Crosstrek at 0.9 percent for 48 months. Still, retailers can offer customers the unadvertised rate of 1.9 percent for 72 months lowering the payment by $163 per month for an added cost of around $1,000 in interest.
Here is the list of unadvertised interest rates on 2021 Subaru models
2021 Forester: 2.49 percent for 72 months (advertised deal: 1.9 percent for 48 months)
2021 Outback: 0.9 percent for 72 months (advertised deal: 0 percent for 63 months)
2021 Crosstrek: 1.9 percent for 72 months (advertised deal: 0.9 percent for 48 months)
2021 Ascent: 0.9 percent for 72 months (Advertised deal: 0 percent for 63 months)
2021 Impreza: 0.9 percent for 72 months (advertised deal: 0 percent for 63 months)
2021 Legacy: 0.9 percent for 72 months (advertised deal: 0 percent for 63 months)
Some Subaru models like the 2021 Forester and Crosstrek are in high demand, and retailers have the option of marking-up these unadvertised rates by up to 1 percent for added profit. That’s why you see the higher rates above on these two models. You can get a better deal on 2021 Outback and Ascent because Subaru of America has more inventory of those models.
Retailers also have other unadvertised incentives available to help sell cars this month. You won’t ever see Subaru advertise these cash incentives on a 2021 Subaru Forester, Outback, Crosstrek, or Ascent. Shoppers should ask for additional incentives to “sweeten” the deal and longer-term rates if you need to lower the payment.
