The 2020 Honda CR-V arrives with new upgrades, see why it’s better to get the 2019 model now.
Honda’s 2020 CR-V compact SUV is coming with some minor mid-cycle changes but if you want to save some money and don’t need the latest changes, it’s better to get the outgoing 2019 CR-V now. The only changes for the 2020 model change are minor styling freshening, a more tech-friendly center console and safety upgrades and powertrain updates for the base LX version.
The most significant changes come to the base CR-V LX trim with it getting the 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that powers the rest of the CR-V lineup and it also adds standard Honda Sensing safety and driver-aid tech, which was not even an option for 2019. Other trim levels get minor changes to bumpers and headlights and a revised center console.
But the base 2020 CR-V LX trim is not the best value (you can read our full analysis here), so if you get the best value 2020 CR-V EX trim, you will pay more ($28,655, +$210.)
You can also get good deals on the 2019 Honda CR-V now as dealers want to move the remaining models off their lots to make room for 2020 model inventory. Honda is offering the 2019 CR-V EX 2Wd model for $259 per month for 36 months on a special featured lease now through January 2, 2020.
They are also offering the AWD EX trim for $269 per month for 36 months on a special lease now through January 2, 2020. Honda is offering special 1.9% financing on all 2019 CR-V models for 24-36 months now through January 2, 2020. Honda dealers still have an ample supply of 2019 CR-V models before the 2020 model change arrives, if you don't want to wait for new CR-V, the outgoing models are the best value now.

Honda has soiled its pants
Honda has soiled its pants with the 1.5L Turbo engine in the CRV and Civic. And, Honda dealers don't disclose the fact that there is an oil dilution problem with these engines. (Gas seeps into the oil raising the level on the dipstick above normal.)
This is a very serious problem for Honda and will hurt them for many years (lawsuits).
