Falcon F7 makes supercar impression at NAIAS 2012

Work for Torque News, follow on Twitter, Youtube and Facebook.

I finally remembered where I first saw this car, the Falcon F7 Series 1 Supercar, in person; it was at the Battery Show 2011 in Novi, Michigan. The vehicle was dressed in a flat black, coated carbon fiber finish. Now the Falcon F7 is all dressed up, painted a metallic orange, shining brightly and making a supercar impression at the NAIAS 2012.

According to the Falcon Motor Sport’s website, everything great starts from a single, powerful idea. The Falcon F7, designed by Jeff Lemke, is born out of pure sports car passion and the unquenchable desire to fill the void in the competitive and repetitious world of vehicle exclusivity for a hand crafted, uniquely American, exotic ultra high performance sports car.

Fueled by the positive response and unbridled enthusiasm when unveiling Falcon F7 concept at the 2011 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Falcon Motor Sports accepted its first F7 series 1 order in 2011. In fact, the vehicle on display at the NAIAS 2012 is production sequence number 001 with a customer waiting in the wings to take delivery in a few weeks.

Of course, additional vehicles are under construction and orders are being accepted to complete the initial F7 Series 1 production run of ten vehicles as well as a comprehensive integrated marketing initiative.

For the record, Falcon Motor Sports is located in Holly Michigan, which is the birthplace for concept and development of the original Falcon F7 show vehicle, and test vehicle #1. Everything necessary from designs, exterior body tooling molds, as well as interior fixtures are completed and owned by Falcon Motor Sports.

The marketplace for exotic GT cars currently is serviced by well known Automotive companies such as Ferrari and Lamborghini, whose vehicles sell in the price range of $200,000 to $600,000. Falcon Motor Sports exclusive target price for Falcon F7 is between $195,000 to $250,000. The vehicle which some mistake for a Ferrari at NAIAS 2012 is in the $220,000 range.

Falcon F7 is unique in this segment, because it is the first vehicle in this competitive arena to sport features previously seen in handcrafted cars costing hundreds of thousands of dollars more. Features include the following: all carbon-fiber body, aluminum/carbon fiber monocoque chassis, billet suspension, extreme power to weight ratio, and hand- crafted interiors. The current production plan is to build and sell fifteen cars in the first year, twenty- five plus cars in the second year, and then consistently produce one hundred or more cars in each of the following years. Falcon Motor Sports primary goal is to manufacture excellent, high-quality, hand crafted, high-performance, street machines for high-end automotive enthusiasts with a passionate, renegade spirit, for years to come.

Over the past several years, Falcon Motor Sports has been successfully engaged in the design, manufacture and sale of automotive components, which includes a variety of hardtops, body panels as well as structural components for Dodge Viper and Plymouth Prowler.

On a larger scale, Falcon Motor Sports designed, built and sold a new body style for the 3rd generation Viper streetcar that was widely acclaimed on a worldwide market. Recently, Falcon Motor Sport’s latest product development efforts led to the final development, and fabrication of the car they proudly call, Falcon F7 Series 1.

Here is a video / slideshow of my time at the Falcon F7 display. Special thanks to Noel Thompson, Marketing & communications for Falcon Motor Sports, for permission to take a closer video of the car on Day 2 of Press Preview.
