Some car owners do the craziest things with their vehicles. Here is a humorous short video from "Just Rolled In" that features some truly unbelievable things car owners bring into the garage for servicing that ranges from botched DIY repairs to farm animals!
Starting Monday with a Good Laugh
One of my favorite cringe-worthy experiences with a fellow truck enthusiast is the time I pulled into a parking lot and was immediately approached by another truck owner parked nearby. The guy seemed friendly enough, did not appear to be armed, and I was used to strangers wanting to talk about my ’73 Ford F-100.
The stranger claimed to be into vehicle restorations and talked up a storm about trucks from the 70’s and repairs he had done. You meet all sorts of people this way and most of the time it’s all good; however, sometimes it becomes one of those Saturday Night Live “Girl You Wish You Hadn't Started a Conversation With…” things where you just can’t get away quick enough.
Long story short, warning bells in my head starting ringing when he finally got around to trying to sell me on adding some generic “Mechanic in a Can” solution that I could just pour into my fuel tank, of which he kept a box of in his truck to keep his truck running. To prove his point of just how smooth running it made his engine, he popped open the hood to his truck and proceeded to start the engine.

However, it wasn’t so much the sound of his engine that caught my attention, but this neon orange glow from the engine bay. Apparently, his idea of restoration was the rattle can restoration school of auto mechanics---he had sprayed not just parts of the engine in orange spray paint, but the entire engine bay including the block, the distributor, spark plug wires, fan, radiator, etc…you name it, and it was covered entirely in orange spray paint. I felt like I had stepped into an episode of “American Gothic.”
Not waiting for banjo music to start playing in the background, I complemented him on his fine sense of engine color and beat a hasty retreat out of that parking lot.
That said, here is a recent collection of some cringe-worthy car customer events from the Just Rolled In YouTube channel that are guaranteed to make your Monday seem a little brighter.
