Picking a used Prius is not always as straight forward as judging its care based on its appearance. A Toyota mechanic shows what to actually look for in an ugly Prius so that you do not pass on one that could be a good deal that other used car shoppers will miss. Plus, why a previously government-owned vehicle can be a real steal.
Used Prius Car Hunting
Finding a used car---especially a popular model that everyone is on the look-out for---can be a frustrating experience: pricing is outrageous, availability is low. However, knowing where to look and what to look for can put you ahead of other shoppers.
As an example, here is a very useful video from the Car Care Nut who shows us a 2009 Toyota Prius “…that most people wouldn't look at twice and would completely ignore in their used car hunt,” says the video’s host.
Although the showcased Prius has obviously had a rough life, it was exceptionally well taken care of mechanically and had actually came from a government vehicle fleet with some extras you would want.
Here’s some sound advice from the host who shows why you should not judge a car by its cover; but rather, “Judge the used car by looking at areas no one would think to shine up and make look pretty, underneath!” as he points out some of the benefits of buying a used government vehicle.
